Violet Box (May 2014)

I was so excited that my May Violetbox arrived at my doorstep the other day! This month's Violetbox is larger than usual, so I was curious to know what was inside that may be taking up all the space in the box. Inside my box there was a postcard which gave a sneak peek into the June Violetbox. It looks like the June Violetbox will hold a sample (or even full size) product of the ghd Straight & Tame Cream, I like the sound of that!

My May Violetbox contained a whole variety of lip, eye, hair and skin care products from new and known brands. The products I received were insanely generous as I received 4 full size products: LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub, Teeez Trend Cosmetics Lipstick, Chella Highlighter Pencil and Timeless Truth Facial Mask, and 3 samples.

I was super excited when I saw a full size Eve's Ready To Wear Lipstick (A$32/3.5g) by Teeez Trend Cosmetics. I was first introduced to this European brand when I received a full size nail polish in my April Violetbox. The lipstick shade I received is called Tempting Pink which is a gorgeous creamy pink shade that would suit every skin tone. The subtle scent is reminiscent of butterscotch and the packaging of the lipstick is very fashionable and trendy!

One of my favourite skin care brands is LUSH, so I was thrilled to receive a full size pot of the Popcorn Lip Scrub (A$9.95/25g)! This lip scrub smells so delicious, brilliantly exfoliates the area around my lips and hydrated my lips, thanks to the core ingredients of Coconut Oil, sugar and a buttery caramel ingredient! I've heard so much about these lip scrubs that I'm glad that I've finally put this product on a test drive!

Chella is a completely new brand to me, so I was intrigued about their skin care range and eye and brow collection. Chella was established in California and they do not test on animals. I received a full size product of Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil (A$22/1.4g), which is a multi-purpose makeup product that has 10 uses! You could use this highlighter to brighten and widen the eyes by applying across the brow bone, waterline and inner corners of the eyes. Additionally, you could use this highlighter pencil to conceal small blemishes and red spots or even to highlight parts of the face (for example, the nose). The Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil is only available in one shade and suitable for those who have light skin tones.

I love finding time to pamper myself (who doesn't?!) so this Timeless Truth Miracle Rejuvenation Mask (A$7/mask) will be put to good use! I also received two NUXE satchet samples of Huile Prodigieuse (an oil to nourish either the face, body or hair) and Creme Merveillance (a moisturier for normal to dry skin types to reduce the appearance of expression lines).

Goldwell StyleSign Sleek Perfection Thermal Spray Serum (A$24.95/100ml) is the perfect size for my travel bag! I always use heat styling products to style my hair, so this little beauty is just what my hair needs!

I am super pleased with the products in my May Violetbox! I love receiving a combination of makeup, hair care and skin care products, which is what Violetbox consistently does! I will definitely enjoy playing with my new beauty goodies this month and I look forward to the June Violetbox!
Violet box subscriptions cost A$22.95/month, A$66/3 months, A$130/6 months or A$250/year and you will receive a surprise Violet Box containing 4-6 beauty treats (full/sample size) at your door step every month. For more information on Violet Box, please click here

  1. The lippie looks fantastic and I'd be super-happy with the Lush lip scrub, too! I'm not subscribed to any of the beauty boxes, but this one does look rather good!
