NEW Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow

The exciting new Clarins Ombre Minerale Colour Collection will launch in Australia on February 23, 2013. The collection features all the essential makeup products you need to give your face a classy and natural look. The limited edition products in the collection includes the Colour Accents Face & Blush Powder (A$59),  3-Dot Liner (A$40), Kohl Eye Pencil (A$36), Instant Definition Mascara in Intense Plum (A$42), Rouge Prodige lipsticks (A$42: No. 132 Spiced Orange, No. 133 Fig, No. 134 Orchid Pink and No. 135 Dark Cherry) and Ombre Minerale Eyeshahow (A$44/2g, available in 16 stunning shades).

This post includes a review on the Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadows in shades 06 Tea Rose and 11 Silver Green. Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyshadow, as mentioned, includes a whole new spectrum of 16 mesmerising shades that are categorised into matte, satin and shimmer finishes. The solid and compact gold packaging of these eyeshadows look stunning  with an in-built mirror and applicator. The design of the packaging looks very luxe!

Clarins - 'Ombre Minerale delivers smooth, long-lasting colour. Its ultra-soft mineral texture can be applied wet or dry, to beautifully enhance the eyes with a matte, satin or shimmer finish.'

Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow in #06 Tea Rose (L) and #11 Silver Green (R).

#06 Tea Rose is a beautiful shimmery satin pink peach which can be used as a base for the lids for an everyday look.

#11 Silver Green is a dark silver deep green with iridescent shimmers which can be used to enhance the eyes for a smoky eye look.

Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow can be applied wet to provide an intense and bold look to accentuate the eyes or it can be applied dry to give a soft and sexy look. The sponge tip applicator which comes in the eyeshadow compact makes it very easy to pick up product for application and blending to create a lovely wash of colour across the lids. The mineral eyeshadow is extremely finely milled, so a soft sweep to the eye lids provides beautiful colour intensity with ease and without any evidence of fallout. The colour intensity of these eyeshadows is not sheer nor pigmented, in fact I find the intensity just about right. I prefer to apply these shadows on dry as the soft wash of the shades gives my eyes an angelic look.

Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow in Tea Rose (bottom) and Silver Green (top).
The quality and longevity of the formula is fantastic as my lids are very oily and with most eyeshadows I have used, they are not completely compatible for my oily lids. Fading was not an issue after wearing the eyeshadow from AM to PM and also creases were not evident. As always, a primer will help to allow the mineral eyeshadow to stay put although I have tried applying the eyeshadow on without primer and surprisingly, I had no issues with fading or creasing.

The finish and overall quality of the new Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadows is definitely worth looking into if you are looking for long lasting eyeshadow for oily lids. The broad spectrum of shades available in the range has got me hooked and I'm sure you too will be lost for choice!

The new Clarins Ombre Minerale Colour Collection will be available from leading department stores, selected pharmacies and retail specialists and online at Adore Beauty from February 23 2013.

Which product/s are you most excited about in the new Clarins Ombre Minerale Colour Collection?

Christian Dior Prêt-à-Porter S/S’13 Collection

I am completely mesmerised with the Christian Dior Prêt-à-Porter Spring Summer 2013 collection by Dior creative director Raf Simons. The theme exudes ‘liberation, both historical to the house and personal to himself’.

Raf Simons – ‘I am a fan of minimalism. It is a conceptual approach I like, but it is not the only one I like. Neither is it only one type of woman that I want to appeal to.’

The beautiful vibrant eye makeup look was designed by the man himself and created by makeup artists Tyen and Pat McGrath.

Pat McGrath – ‘Techno Butterfly look that draws attention to the eyes with intense geometric colours, studded with ‘bursts’ of Swarovski crystals in matching or contrasting shades.

The spectacular colours and ‘Techno Butterfly’ design to the eyes looks stunning while rest of the makeup is kept neat and minimal. Just apply a thin line to the upper eyelid with black eyeliner, mascara to achieve fluttery lashes and a natural, unified and powdered complexion with subtly highlighted rosy cheeks was all that was required to complete the look.

Are you in LOVE with this look as much as I am?

Naomi Watts Red Carpet Glamour

Pantene Ambassador Naomi Watts had everyone’s head turn as she walked across the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2013 event held last week.  Naomi Watts looked elegant wearing a Zac Posen gown in a stunning oxblood shade which suited her classic faux bob. She truly is a style icon! To view Naomi Watts' Golden Globe look, please see Pantene Australia & New Zealand's Facebook page here.

Pantene Expert Stylist Barney Martin demonstrates how to get the 1920’s inspired faux bob:
  1. Use Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo and Conditioner (A$7.99/350mL) to thoroughly wash your hair.
  2. Next, apply Pantene Curl Defining Mousse (A$6.99) to the hair and blow dry, smoothing hair with a flat paddle brush.
  3. Part hair on the right-hand-side.
  4. Separate a section of hair at the front left side and leave loose for finger wave.
  5. To create the shorter look, take remaining hair and roll underneath to desired shortness, securing at nape of neck with pins. Pull right side slightly tighter to accentuate shape.
  6. Taking the loose section of hair, use a large barrelled curling tong to create a finger wave. Pin into place behind ear to secure.
  7.  Set hair in place with Pantene Stay Smooth Hairspray (A$6.99).

What do you think of the faux bob hair look?

Lush Lip Tint in A Million Kisses

NOTE to self: MUST stock up on LUSH LIP TINTS!! During the Christmas Boxing Day sales last year, Lush had some products on sale at 50% off. I managed to get my hands on the Lush Lip Tint in A Million Kisses (A$9.95/10g on sale at A$4.95), however, my BIG MISTAKE was that I only purchased ONE! That just means that I will be making another stop at the Lush store very soon :)

I have never experienced Lush cosmetics before, so I didn't have any expectations - except that from what I've heard their products are FAB! I love the fact that Lush products are all made from natural and organic ingredients, so I was really excited to try out the lip tint. Upon twisting the lid off the 20 cent-sized tin of the lip tint, I was utterly gobsmacked when I saw the vibrant valentine red tint of the shade A Million Kisses! The lip tint has a subtle sweet scent with a hint of floral notes which arise from the ingredients, Rose Oil, Lemon Oil and Rose Petal Powder. I usually just dab a small amount onto my lips using my ring finger and the very pigmented lip tint gives my lips a beautiful berry red colour. Although the lip tint is highly pigmented, the formula does transfer to my coffee cup, however, my lips appear nicely stained. I love the characteristics of this lip tint as it leaves a gorgeous stain so that I don't need to re-apply during the day and the formula contains organic Rose Hip and Jojoba Oils to smooth and nourish my lips.

Lush Lip Tint in A Million Kisses really is worth a million kisses!

Have you tried any Lush Lip Tints before?
