NEW Kosmea Apple of My Eye Cream

Kosmea Apple of My Eye Cream (A$44.95/15ml) launched just a few days ago and I've been very fortunate to have the opportunity to trial this eye cream a fortnight before it launched in-store. Kosmea Apple of My Eye Cream sounds very catchy doesn't it?! The marker pen-like tube applicator looks like an interesting tool for applying eye cream and it is conveniently shaped for easy storage in my makeup pouch and ensure application is hygienic.

Kosmea Apple of My Eye Cream is a potent concoction of active ingredient PhytoCellTex (derived from a rare Swiss apple), White Tea Extract, Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil, Shea Butter and Carrot Oil. PhytoCellTex is the star ingredient of Kosmea Apple of My Eye Cream as it has been clinically-studied to be an effective aid to combat the signs of ageing by minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area. White Tea Extract and Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil help to brighten dark under eye areas and reduce the signs of wrinkles.

My dark and puffy under eye area has always been one of my main skin concerns and to overcome these problems I've been using Kosmea Apple of My Eye Cream twice daily (morning and night) for the past couple of weeks. The applicator tool is a pump in which you should carefully dispense the product with a light hand, otherwise you would end up with excess product. My first attempt in dispensing the eye cream was a complete failure as the pump is quite sensitive.

The rich and creamy yellow formula hydrates and soothes my under eye area and the small and smooth curved paddle helps to allow gentle application of the cream to the skin with ease. Kosmea Apple of My Eye Cream worked effectively to hydrate my under eye area without leaving any greasy residue. It's amazing how this eye cream leaves my eye area feeling smooth and well nourished. With regards to fine lines around my eyes, at this point in time I have not noticed any change, so I'm hoping continual usage for a longer period of time may provide me with positive results

In essence, Kosmea Apple of My Eye Cream is a lovely nourishing eye cream with the benefits of PhytoCellTec and Rose Hip Oil to protect and prevent signs of ageing around the eye area.

Kosmea Apple of My Eye Cream will be available from May 1st 2013 online and in-store at David Jones and selected Pharmacies nationally.

What do you think of Kosmea's concept of using an apple stem cell complex as part of their new eye cream?

September Empties

PHYT'S Activ'Peel Scrub (reviewed here) - I really enjoyed using PHYT'S face scrub as the granules did a really good job in cleansing my pores. The citrus scent was incredibly great, it's one of the features of this scrub that I loved!

EstéeLauder Take it Away Total Makeup Remover - This makeup remover (travel sized) has a cream/mousse-like appearance with a strong but pleasant cucumber scent to it. It removes my makeup easily, except when I'm wearing heavy eye makeup, and it calms and soothes my skin as well.

La Prairie Cellular Time Release Moisturiser Intensive (reviewed here) - The texture of this moisturiser feels lovely on the skin and the scent was just beautiful. I would purchase a full size of this moisturiser if I could.

Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir (reviewed here) - I've been using my favourite Chanel mascara for about 5 months and I thought now is a good time to switch to a new one. I love how Inimitable Intense makes my lashes look naturally defined and fluttery. I will definitely re-purchase this mascara!

Lancôme  Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara (reviewed here) - Doll Eyes is probably the first ever scented mascara that I have tried. The result was beautiful soft fluttery lashes and I'm glad that the perfumed formula didn't irritate my sensitive eyes.

Kosmea Hydrating Rosewater Mist (reviewed here) - I loved using this mist as the Rosewater scent was lovely and the mist helped to set my makeup and also refresh my skin at the end of a tiring day at work.

Lancôme Genifique Youth Activator (reviewed here) - This silky lightweight serum was in my travel makeup bag when I travelled to Germany and it helped to hydrate and moisturise my skin. The serum absorbs quickly and leaves my skin nice and matte.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster (reviewed here) -  I only tried a sample of this serum, so I didn't really noticed any major changes to my skin texture. Though, one of the great qualities I loved about this serum is the subtle citrous scent and that it was fast absorbing.

Which products have you used up last month?

Kosmea Radiance 24/7 Youth Boost

Kosmea Radiance 24/7 Youth Boost (A$39.95/20ml) has recently launched this month and the product aims to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, preserve the skin elasticity and moisture, revitalise the skins' appearance protect the skin against visible signs of aging. The star ingredients which help boost skin radiance 24/7 are the following antioxidant rich berry oils: Rose hip Oil, Seabuckthorn Oil, Pomegranate Oil, Camellia Oil and Apricot Oil, all of which are certified organic ingredients.

Rosehip Oil is a well known wonder ingredient in many serums which provide amazing healing benefits to the skin. I always incorporate Rosehip Oil in my daily skin care regime as it is an excellent healing solution for my skin. I normally apply 3 drops of Kosmea Radiance 24/7 Youth Boost to my face and decolletage and massage each drop at a time in a gentle patting motion. The scent is beautiful with a distinct aroma of berries! I don't think I've ever used any skin care products that are formulated and scented with berry extracts.

I treat this amazing solution of gold as a booster, as the name suggests, to be applied after toning and before serum application. That way, my skin could absorb the natural oils prior to applying serum and then moisturiser. Kosmea Radiance 24/7 Youth Boost helps to calm and soothe my skin when it becomes erratic during that time of the month or when my stress levels increase dramatically. Not only, does it put my skin at peace, it also accelerates the recovery of blemishes which appear every now and then.

Do you have any Kosmea favourites that you use in your skin care regime?

Review: Kosmea Hydrating Rosewater Mist

Kosmea is one of my favourite natural skincare brands as their products are kind to my skin and the beauty of natural skincare products is that they contain ingredients which are good for the skin. I have reviewed and enjoyed using their Daily Facial Exfoliant, you can read my post here.

Toners and mists can be used in a number of ways: it can be used to tone and balance the skin, as a hydrating mist to set makeup or even as a pick-me-up spritz to freshen the skin after a long day.

Kosmea Hydrating Rosewater Mist (A$19.95/125 ml) has the core ingredient Pure Rose Flower Water which hydrates and refreshes my skin. It's very gentle to my skin and also soothes my skin at the same time. I've been using this product to set my makeup and as a hydrating mist to freshen up at the end of the day. The roseware scent is very uplifting and divine! I love how it leaves my skin feeling great and 'energized'. The mist is housed in a plastic spray bottle and it's very handy to keep around the bathroom or office drawer.  The This mist is a definite must-have for my handbag especially during summer.

Hydrating Rosewater Mist is available at David Jones Departments in Australia and online at www.kosmea.com.au.

Do you use toner or hydrating mists? Which toners/mists do you use?

Review: Kosmea Daily Facial Exfoliant

I am a huge lover of exfoliants (as you may have noticed!) and when I came across Kosmea's Daily Facial Exfoliant, that I received in the January Glossybox, I was totally astonished as to how unique this exfoliant is! I haven't used Kosmea products in the past, so I'm glad I came across this exfoliant and now know a little more about the brand.

Kosmea is an Australian skin care brand which delivers a wide range of natural skin care products made from plant, flower and herbal extracts from Australia and around the world. The Kosmea Organic Certified Rose Hip Oil has been noted to be quite popular and I am yet to try it out myself.

Kosmea products are housed in recyclable packaging and are free from petrochemicals, articifial colours, mineral oils, artifical fragrances, sodium lauryl sulphate, animal ingredients and they do not test on animals.

I've been using the Daily Facial Exfoliant these last few days and I love how gentle and soothing this product is to my skin. This exfoliant can be used on a daily basis as the texture is gentle and kind to the skin.

There are two ways to use this exfoliant: 1. as a cleanser and just massage a small amount onto the skin and rinse or 2. as a detoxifying mask treatment and leave the exfoliant on your skin for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it off. I've been using the second method as I like to enjoy the benefits of the core ingredients chamomile flowers, rose hip, kaolin clay and rice flour which helps to soothe, exfoliate and draw out skin impurities. My skin feels refreshed, soothed and clean and I'm really happy with the results.

The scent is hardly noticeable and the texture doesn't look so appealing, though this doesn't really bother me. You can actually see the crushed rose hip and chamomile flowers in this exfoliant.

The price tag is little pricey, though this is what you expect for natural skin care products which help to improve the look and feel of your skin. I'm impressed with this exfoliant and I'm really interested to explore other products from Kosmea. They do stock a decent range of miniatures starting from $9.95, which I find is a great way to see if the product suits my skin.

Kosmea Daily Facial Exfoliant retails for $39.95 for 125g and is available at David Jones Departments in Australia and www.kosmea.com.au.

Have you tried Kosmea products before? Which products would you reccomend? What do you think of nautral skin care products?

January Glossybox Celebrates Australia Day

Glossybox has become one of my favourite beauty sampling boxes, alongside Bellabox, because I adore the high end brands associated with them (Sally Hansen, Shu Uemura, Bobbi Brown and Jurlique just to name a few). Some beauty samples may be deluxe sized and some may be full size. Sometimes the samples may be too small to trial and the reason for such a small amount of product given is that high end products are quite expensive and a deluxe sample would still be worth quite a lot.

One of the best features of Glossybox compared to all the other sample boxes I've seen (Bellabox, Lusthavit, ilovethisbox and Beauty Basket) is the super cute pink packaging! The contents come in a sturdy signature pink Glossybox box and the contents are wrapped neatly in black tissue paper and a cute pink ribbon. I now have three Glossyboxes which are currently being used as an organiser to store my skincare and cosmetics. The Glossybox boxes are also great for gift giving!

My January Glossybox arrived in the nick of time!

If you do not want to know what is in the January Glossybox, please do not read on!

Gift Card for online fashion label The Iconic

January GlossyBox Total worth ~$72

I like the idea of Glossybox having the theme of the January box as 'Australia Day' since Australia Day is just around the corner. The card with the list of products was printed in green and gold rather than the signature brown and pink colours.

The products I received didn't really impress me at all as the only products I liked were the Kosmea Daily Exfoliant and Nivea body moisturiser. The Mirenesse eye liner is a blue shade and unfortunately that's not a shade I would wear. I've never heard of nor tried the Sheer Cover line before, so I'll see how the lipgloss and mosituriser goes during the weekend. The $25 gift card to shop at The Iconic was something different, though I don't think I will end up using this up. The Australia Day tattoos look pretty fun so I'll definitely have these on next Thursday! Overall, the January Glossybox was underwhelming compared to the previous boxes I have received.

The word around the block is that the February box will be extra special due to February being the month for Valentine's Day. I saw a sneak peak via the Glossybox newsletter and apparently the February Glossybox could come in a hot pink box!

I was thinking of unsubscribing to Glossybox, but I think I'll hold out until I see what's in the February Glossybox.

What do you think of the January GlossyBox?
Which products did you receive in your box?
