OPI Brazil Nail Collection - Copacababies Mini Nail Lacquers

  

The latest installment at OPI is the sassy Brazil Copacababies (A$24.95/set) consisting of four 'tropicalicious' mini nail lacquers! Such a cute name!! What's more to love about these shades is their quirky names! I love how OPI are always so creative with naming their shades.

Next Stop... The Bikini Zone

Next Stop... The Bikini Zone is a purple/grey duochrome shade, described by OPI as an amethyst-toned pewter, contains an abundance of miniscule silver glitters. This shade is surprisingly very sheer, so I would suggest using this shade as a top coat over any dark and bold shade.

Kiss Me I'm Brazilian

Kiss Me I'm Brazilian is a baby pink neon creme shade that's just like a Barbie pink shade! It's a pretty pink shade to this collection, though I'm sure there are many dupes of this shade out there. The consistency is quite thick and creamy, so one coat is sufficient for a smooth and opaque finish.

AmazON... AmazOFF

AmazON... AmazOFF is a gorgeous vibrant teal shade with very subtle shimmers. I absolutely LOVE this shade!! The gorgeous teal shade is so eye-catching and you could easily pull this shade in any season. The formula and consistency is quite lovely and very easy to work with. Only two coats was enough to achieve an opaque finish.

Where Did Suzi's Man-Go?

Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? is a very tropical orange/mango creme shade that just screams paradise! This shade is quite a fun and unique colour that I'm sure most people will love! The consistency was pretty good as I did end up with a smooth, glossy finish with 2 coats.

OPI Muppets Most Wanted Nail Polish Collection

The latest news from OPI headquarters is the launch of the Muppets Most Wanted Collection, which coincides with Disney's 'Muppets Most Wanted' movie! The Muppets Most Wanted Collection by OPI brings you soft and dazzling shades that deliver an animated finish to your paws! There are 8 shades in the OPI Muppets Most Wanted Collection, which launched in Australia and the types of nail formulas include the following: soft pastels, shattered glitters and chrome finishes.

Today I have 2 of the 3 glitter nail polishes from the collection to share with you and these are 'Muppets World Tour' and 'Gaining Mole-mentum'! These two shades are my personal favourites from the entire collection as these glitters make my nails look so glamorous and clinquant!

OPI Muppets World Tour is packed full of micro white and silver glitters of different size with prominent azure blue and pastel pink glitters. This glitter nail polish reminds me of snow falling gracefully from the sky! The glitters are plentiful and abundant that you only need two coats to almost conceal the nail bed. The base of Muppets World Tour is transparent, so this shade would provide a stunning finish as a top coat over pastel shades of either pink or purple.

 

OPI Gaining Mole-Mentum is made up of a burst of light pink and gold shattered glitters, which looks just like shards of multi-coloured glass. I love the effect of Gaining Mole-mentum as each glitter appears to be unique, which looks quite mesmerising! I've applied Gaining Mole-mentum as a top coat on my ring finger nail over a shade of metallic gold nail polish (see photo below). Gaining Mole-mentum looks just as good on it's own compared to using this as a top coat nail polish!

 

Overall, Muppets World Tour and Gaining Mole-mentum are super pretty and unique glitter nail polishes which can be versatile in terms of its use as a top or individual coat. If I was to choose between the two shades, then it would be Gaining Mole-mentum, as the chunky shattered glitters give dimension to my nails!

 Once I heard news about the new collaboration between Gwen Stefani and OPI, I felt super super SUPER excited!! The gorgeous fashion and music icon Gwen Stefani alongside OPI released a set of limited edition OPI shades that I have fallen in love with!!

The Gwen Stefani for OPI Rock Starlets mini nail lacquer set (A$24.95) includes two creme gloss and two semi-matte satin finish nail lacquers that are limited edition OPI shades.

Hey Baby - a vibrant and fun Barbie pink shade with creme gloss finish. Hey Baby is a dupable pink shade, though it sure does fit in very well as being a part of Gwen Stefani's hot nail lacquer shades! The formula is incredibly creamy, silky smooth and highly pigmented. I applied two coats to achieve a completely opaque finish.

I Sing in Color - a seductive and deep blackberry shade. The creme gloss finish gives an overall look of perfection to the nails! The plummy red hue is noticeable around the edges of the nails and you could tell the difference in opacity between 1 and 2 coats.

Love.Angel.Music.Baby. - OMG! This shade completely blew my mind away! Love.Angel.Music.Baby. features a luscious gold semi-matte satin finish. This. is. an. unbelievably. stunning. shade! The micro shimmers give my nails a glamorous and luxurious look that would definitely turn heads! The semi-matte finish looks beautiful and unique!

Wet finish look before the formula starts to dry

After a few seconds the formula dries to a beautiful matte finish.

4 In the Morning - an incredibly dramatic and unique shade of charcoal with silver micro-shimmers. I'm not a huge fan of dark nail colours, however, this shade is no exception!! No top coat is required after applying 4 In the Morning, because this shade dries within a few seconds to reveal a beautiful semi-matte satin finish.
 

Gwen Stefani for OPI Rock Starlets mini nail lacquer set is definitely a true hit! I absolutely love the unique creme gloss and semi-matte satin formulas of these nail lacquers! I would highly recommend trying out these shades for yourself as the quality is just as good as the finish and shades of nail lacquers in this set! Gwen Stefani, YOU ROCK!!

Minimalistic Nails with a Hint of Sparkle

I love the look of soft shades of nail polish and Essie Minimalistic is one of my favourite shades to wear as the milky soft pink looks lovely and elegant on my nails, perfect for any occasion. Minimalistic is just stunning that I think it would look beautiful to wear if you were thinking about bridal nails. I painted two coats of Essie Minimalistic and one coat of OPI Katy Perry Teenage Dream to the tips as the sunny was shining bright today, so I thought the reflection of the micro and chunky glitters would look pretty under the sun!

NOTD: OPI Care to Danse? and Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous

OPI Care to Danse? and OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous (Irre-Swiss-Ables Collection) look like a perfect match on my nails! OPI Care to Danse? is a milky light pink/lilac which applies on very sheer and smooth. I had to apply a few coats of Care to Danse? just to get a decent opaque finish. To add a touch of winter's grey clouds, I applied OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous on my nail tips.

Fun and Flirty Lust Haves for May

Last month saw Glossybox merge with popular beauty sampling subscription service Lust Have It! and during April, ex-Glossybox subscribers had their accounts automatically transferred to LHI. Due to the sudden news about the merge, ex-Glossybox subscribers will receive an alternative May LHI pack to the May LHI pack in which original LHI subscribers will receive. So, there are apparently three different LHI packs for distribution only in May: the usual May LHI pack for original LHI subscribers and the LHI pack for ex-Glossybox subscribers with the theme of either ‘Luxe and Luxurious’ and ‘Fun and Flirty’.

My first ever LHI pack has arrived with the theme of ‘Fun and Flirty’ and the contents were stored in a hot pink LHI pouch rather than a box like Bellabox and Glossybox. Since it was Mother’s Day not long ago, my LHI pack also contained a lovely Mother’s Day card. That was really thoughtful!

Showface Professional Eyeshadow (full size): I have not come across this beauty brand before and it was nice to receive a full size eye shadow to try out. At first I thought it was a face powder, however, after reading the info card, it says that it is an eyeshadow. To be honest I was not impressed with this product at all! There was no indication of the shade name on the card nor packaging, the packaging is a little flimsy and there is no pigmentation at all. I could not get the slightly bit of powder to show up. This eyeshadow seems to apply on translucent like a face powder and once applied, it just disappears without a trace.

Lush Dirty Soap (60g sample): My LHI pack smells absolutely divine due to the Lush Dirty Soap inside my LHI pack. Lush Dirty Soap consists of spearmint, sandalwood, pine and oakmoss. I’ve never really had the chance to try Lush soaps before, so I’m looking forward to using this product.

Nicole by OPI in ‘Give Me The First Dance’ from the Justin Bieber Mini Hit Makers Set (3.75ml sample): 'Give Me The First Dance' is a foil silver shade with a gazillion miniscule glitters that gives a nice smooth finish. I will definitely show a NOTD post soon! The bottle is just too cute and a great size to trial.

Chloe L’Eau de Chloe (1.2ml sample): Fragrances by Chloe are just beautiful and luxuriously feminine. The top notes are a floral mix of rose petals blended with natural rose water. Sounds like the perfect scent for me!

Biore: I received three samples from the Biore range, namely Unclogging Scrub, Triple Action Toner and 2 Pore Strips. I’ve tried a few products from the range before and I found that the cleansing products were a little too harsh for my skin type. I might just have to give these samples away to my friend who would probably make good use of these.

My first impression of my May LHI pack was honestly not so great having received an eyeshadow with little information and poor quality and Biore skincare samples which I  previously found were a little too harsh for my skin type. If I had the choice, I would definitely choose the LHI pack that the original LHI subscribers received (e.g. ModelCo lip gloss and Evo haircare samples). On the up-side, I was very pleased to receive Lush Dirty Soap to test drive and samples of Chloe L’Eau de Chloe and Nicole by OPI lacquer.

Silver Strip Half Moon Mani with Bloom Cosmetics and OPI

I've been having so much fun doing the half moon manicure on my nails. I'm not much of an expert when it comes to nail art, so I'd say the half moon mani is a very basic technique.

One of my favourite shades that I've been wearing is Bloom Cosmetics *'The Casette Society II' nail polish (gunmetal grey). The gunmetal grey shade suits the winter season, however, you can jazz it up and wear it to suit the Christmas season.

 I've used The Casette Society II as the base with Bloom Cosmetics 'Sibella II' (a gypsy gold shade) nail polish as the half moon (applied over the base) and a strip of OPI 'Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous' (from the OPI Irre-Swiss-Ables Collection) to highlight the half moon. Another reason why I love to use a strip of silver is to disguise an uneven half moon. I don't use any stickers or tape to acheive the half moon mani as it just gets too messy, so the best way for me to apply Sibella II is to simply swipe the nail polish across the base of the nails.

Madison Magazine + Butter London Nail Polish

December Issue of Madison Magazine

I was browsing the Woolworths aisle the other day and to my surprise I saw a Butter London nail polish attached to the front cover of the December issue of Madison with Jessica Gomes on the cover! Gee... the name Jessica is so common! Jessica is of Singaporean-Chinese and Portugese background and born and raised in Perth. She is an Australian model and it's great to see a new face to the cover of glossy mag Madison. 

 I love a great little bonus with mags, so if you pick up your December issue of Madison you will get the choice between two Butter London nail polishes in Trout Pout (salmon pink) and Yummy Mummy (creamy pale taupe). Plus you will also get a $10 discount when you purchase two Butter London nail polishes at participating retail outlets. 

Butter London nail polishes are 3 free nail lacquers which means they are formulated without nasty and toxic chemicals such as formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl-phthalate (DBP) or parabens.

Yummy Mummy looks like the perfect netural shade for Autumn/Winter and Trout Pout looks like the perfect shade for Spring/Summer, so I decided to choose Trout Pout.

 I'm wearing Trout Pout on my nails today and here's what it looks like:

Trout Pout leans more towards coral in the above photos, however, it's actually more of a bright salmon pink shade. The consisteny of Butter London nail polishes is very creamy and smooth and two coats will give a completely opaque finish. The only downside is that this nail polish started to chip on my busy nails after one day.  


I've taken another photo of my Trout Pout nails (below) under different lighting and shade appears to be closer to the actual colour.

To acheive the finished look, I used Sally Hansen Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat, two coats of Butter London Trout Pout, OPI Rapidry Top Coat and finally Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Speed Dry Drops (love this stuff!!).

Review: OPI Irre-Swiss-Ables Collection

Another incredibly irresistible OPI mini limited edition set!

But, this one is slightly different, besides from shades of course!

This OPI Irre-Swiss-Ables collection features 3 bold and hot shades from the 
OPI Texas Spring 2011 collection plus one RapiDry Top Coat.

I've never used any top coat polishes from OPI, so this was a great chance to test it out! 

RapiDry is intended to give lasting shine and colour to nail polish.

Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous

Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous definitely does look spectacular! I love the bold and shimmery look of this shade! The true tone of this silver grey shade looks much darker than shown in the above photo.

Yodel Me On My Cell

Yodel Me On My Cell is an intense blue shade with a metallic finish. I had to apply about three coats to get an overall opaque finish. I was a little disappointed when I applied the first coat as it went on sheer on my nails. This may be the cause of the formula which was a tiny bit gooey due to the miniscule shimmers within this nail polish formula.

Color So Hot It Berns

Color So Hot It Berns is an amazing spicy hot red that goes on opaque after two coats. I love this true red shade as it's bold and classy!
