Violet Box (September 2014)

My Violet Box arrived and I am feeling super excited to experiment with some new beauty goodies! The September edition of Violet Box came packaged in their signature white box with a black drawer. This is the 3rd time I've received my Violet box in this form and I really love it as the drawers are very useful for organising my makeup, stationery, hair accessories etc.

The contents in my September Violet Box included a selection of dry shampoo, nail treatment, nail polish, eye-shadow and eye pencil. It's great to see a wide selection between hair, makeup and nail products!

Scandalous Fabulously Flirty Dry Shampoo (A$16.95/150ml, full-sized product received) - I enjoy the convenience of using dry shampoo after a workout at the gym or when I'm in a rush and don't have the chance to wash my hair. Scandalous Fabulously Flirty Dry Shampoo is an interesting type of dry shampoo that is formulated using corn starch to absorb excess oil from the scalp. The scent is quite strong and has a woody-based scent, which isn't a scent that I would call my favourite. Despite the scent, my scalp and hair feels fresh and clean after a couple of sprays from this spray can.

Foltene Nail Treatment (A$29.95/10ml, full-sized product received) - I was first exposed to the brand Foltene when I received their Eye Lash and Eye Brow Treatment, in my August edition of Violet Box, that I am still using 'til this day. My nails are dry and somewhat brittle, so this Nail Treatment is definitely one that I would use to strengthen and lengthen my nails. The sponge tip applicator makes it very easy to apply a thin layer over the bed of my nails. You could also use this formula over nail polish. Fingers crossed that my nails become stronger and healthier!

I love playing with colour cosmetics, which is why I was feeling super excited when I opened up my Violet Box to reveal 3 colour cosmetic products!

Polished London Nail Enamel (A$8/10ml, full-sized product received) -  I received the shade 'Big Ben', which is a gorgeous pastel blue shade. This shade is perfect to wear during this Spring season!

Girlactik Eyeshadow (A$23/2.5g, full-sized product received) - This cute and compact eye shadow in the shade 'Pink Ruffle' is a pretty metallic baby pink shade. I've been using this cute shade as a highlighter by applying a tiny amount to the inner corners of my eyes and below my brow bone. I love how this shade can be used to highlight areas of my eyes. Due to the metallic sheen of this shade, I wouldn't suggest to use it as an all-over eyeshadow.

Starlooks Ultra Olive Gem Pencil (A$21.50, 2.4g, full-sized product received) - The shade I received is an Olive Green shade that applies on to appear like a metallic gold shade. Starlooks eye pencil is an amazing eye pencil as it provides intense pigmentation, has good lasting-power and is very easy to give eyes a dramatic look!

I am very happy with the contents I received in my September Violet Box. I've already started using every single product since I received my Violet Box subscription, so double thumbs up!! The products I received were all full-sized products, which is very generous of Violet Box!

Violet Box beauty subscriptions cost A$22.95/month, A$68/3 months, A$137/6 months or A$250/year and you will receive a surprise Violet Box containing 5-6 beauty treats (full/sample-size) at your door step every month. For more information on Violet Box, please click here.

Violet Box (August 2014)

Receiving my monthly Violet Box beauty box subscription waiting for me on my doorstep always brings a smile to my dial as I always feel eager to discover new beauty products and brands. The August edition of Violet Box was presented in a sturdy white box with a black drawer, just like the July edition last month. I love the presentation of this drawer box as it looks very appealing and useful as a storage option for my on-going collection of beauty products!

This months Violet box contained a fabulous selection of eye makeup, eyelash & eyebrow treatment, lipgloss, hand cream and body soap. There were 4 full-sized products and a deluxe sample of the hand cream that were beautifully wrapped in hot pink tissue paper with shredded purple paper.

Foltene Eyelash & Eyebrow Treatment (A$20.95/10ml, full-sized product received) - I was intrigued when I saw an eyelash & eyebrow treatment by Italian brand Foltene, as I've never thought of trying to enhance the growth of the lashes and eyebrow. If you have thin and fragile eyelashes and eyebrows then this formula may assist to give you stronger, thicker and longer eyelashes and eyebrows. The core ingredient is Tricalgoxyl which is a common ingredient, used by expert scientists at Foltene Laboratories, that is used to prevent hair loss. The colorless formula is applied to the lashes/brows using the mascara wand and overtime the formula will help to encourage the growth and strengthen your lashes/brows. The scent of the formula is a tad overpowering for my liking, so if you have sensitive eyes, be sure to use this formula with caution.

Appelles Rosemary Body Bar Soap (A$5.95/100g, full-sized product received) - I love using bath and body products by Appelles as their products smell so divine and help to relax my body in luxury! I received a full sized Appelles Rosemary Body Bar Soap and the scent is utterly invigorating! This Appelles body bar soap is formulated with Australian essential oils, blue mallee eucalyptus, niaouli, rosemary and lemon myrtle.

Camille Beckman Glycerine Hand Therapy (A$18.95/180ml, 7.1g sample sized received) - This sample pot of Camille Beckman Glycerine Hand Therapy is housed in a cute little black jar with a cute fabric peach coloured rose adorned on its lid. The light pink coloured hand cream smells a little overpowering for my liking, however, the consistency is just about right to hydrate and moisten my dry hands. This cute little pot looks so pretty on my dresser, so I'll be reaching out for this when my hands are in need of TLC!

Evelyn Iona Lipgloss (A$20.50, full-sized product received) - Evelyn Iona is a brand that originated in the United States. This lipgloss was received in the shade 'Val', which is a gorgeous nude colour gloss that is gluten-free, preservative-free and are not tested on animals. I love how the brand Evelyn Iona focuses highly on using natural ingredients and formulating their products in an animal-friendly way. This nude gloss would be great an an everyday lip shade that is hydrating with a smooth and glossy finish.

Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in the shade 'New York City' (A$22, full-sized product received) - This sassy eyeshadow quad comes with four sultry and sexy shades that will help to give you a dramatic smoky eye look on your night out! The shades are highly pigmented, though I would definitely suggest using an eye primer to prolong its longevity. The white, grey and dusty green shades have metallic finishes while the black shade is matte.

These are swatches of the pretty nude lipgloss shade of 'Val' by Evelyn Iona and the eyeshadow swatches of Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in 'New York City. I am in love with the nude gloss as the texture is not too sticky and the formula feels very hydrating on my lips. The eyeshadow shades look so pretty as well, though they do lack staying-power.

Overall, my August Violet Box was quite an interesting one with a generous selection of eye, lip, hand and body products. I will definitely continue using each and every one product in this months Violet Box!

Violet Box beauty subscriptions cost A$22.95/month, A$68/3 months, A$137/6 months or A$250/year and you will receive a surprise Violet Box containing 5-6 beauty treats (full/sample size) at your door step every month. For more information on Violet Box, please click here.

Which products in the August edition of Violet Box do you find most intriguing?

Violet Box (July 2014)

I love how Violet Box always brings NEW and EXCITING products every month! Not only did I receive an amazing assortment of beauty products on my July Violet Box, but everything was housed in a new type of Violet Box! Instead of the usual matte black box with a magnetic flap closure, my Violet Box was white with a black pull out drawer and signature purple tab to pull it out! The new packaging is super cute and easily re-usable! Love it!!

Now on to the beauty products that were housed in my July edition of Violet Box!

Skin & Co Truffle Therapy Serum (A$75/30ml, 5ml sample received) - The sound of truffles always intrigues me! This serum helps to combat wrinkles, fine lines and skin dehydration. I will surely get a good few uses out of this serum to alleviate my dry winter skin.

Sukin Skin Purifying Facial Mask (A$15/100ml, 2x8ml satchets received) - Sukin products are so lovely as they are a skin care company which focuses on natural ingredients. The Purifying Facial Mask is formulated with kaolin and bentonite and infused with aloe vera, rose hip and jojoba oils to purify the pores deep within and nourish the skin. I am looking forward to using this facial mask during the weekend!

KMS California Hair Play Molding Paste (A$40/150ml and A$33/100ml, 20ml sample received) - This Molding Paste smells absolutely beautiful! Smells fruity and delectable! I will definitely use this handy travel-sized tube when styling my hair!

LAQ&Co Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in the shade 'Stranger Danger' (A$20, full sized product received) - Lip products always lights up my eyes! The shade Stranger Danger is such a pretty fuchsia pink that would suit any attire and occasion!

Dr. Hauschka Lavander Sandalwood Calming Body Wash (A$26/200ml and A$6/10ml, 10ml tube received) - I haven't used Dr. Hauschka products before, so I was super excited to try their body wash. This body wash contains quince seed extract alongside some plant surfactants for a luxurious wash!

So Susan Flutter Mascara (A$32/4g, full sized product received) - I'm not so much of a mascara user, so this one will definitely be given to my bestie. I'm sure she will love it because I've enjoyed using other makeup products by So Susan in the past.

Beyonce Rise scented sachet - This was a cute little bonus that was included in my box. I've opened the sachet and left it in my wardrobe so that my clothes would smell fresh! The scent features apricots, Italian bergamot and iced basil sorbet.

I am super happy with the contents in my July Violet Box and very pleased to see a positive new change to the packaging. Violet Box is always consistent with the selection of hair, makeup and body care products which gives me the opportunity to explore a wide range of products in the beauty department! As always, I look forward to the next edition of Violet Box!

Violet Box beauty subscriptions cost A$22.95/month, A$68/3 months, A$137/6 months or A$250/year and you will receive a surprise Violet Box containing 5-6 beauty treats (full/sample size) at your door step every month. For more information on Violet Box, please click here.

Violet Box (June 2014)

June Violet Box

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY VIOLET BOX!

I was very fortunate to be a part of Violet Box from the very start! I've got to say that Violet Box has done a terrific job in putting a smile on my dial every month I've received my Violet Box! I love that every month, there is always a variety of beauty delights, including hair care, skin care and cosmetic products. Violet Box just gets better and better, month after month, and I'm sure they will maintain their goal to bring new, innovative and exciting beauty products so that we could all explore and play with!

Instead of receiving the usual black Violet Box signature box, I received all the beauty contents housed in a cosmetic pouch and everything was all packaged in a padded parcel bag. It was a nice surprise to receive something totally unexpected!

Inside my June Violet Box parcel, there was a wonderful mixture of 7 products (4 full size and 3 deluxe sample size products) ranging from hair care, skin care, brow and nail products from new and popular brands!

I love treating my hair to ghd products, as my hair always looks great after using their treatment and styling products. I received a full sized bottle of ghd Straight & Tame Cream (A$24.00/120ml) which is designed to help tame and transform messy, unruly and unmanageable hair. The opaque white cream has a nice consistency with a refreshing scent and the formula contains Vitamins B5, C and E to nourish and hydrate hair. I've been using a few pumps of this cream after towel drying my hair it really does help to make my hair easier to brush through and style.

Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner (A$30.95/30ml, 15ml sample received) is ideal for those who have combination and oily skin types and is ideal for use as a makeup base to help refine skin texture and minimise the appearance of enlarged pores. I always use a makeup base/primer when applying makeup, so this handy cream by Bioderma will be put to good use!

I was first introduced to Chella last month when I received their Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil. I love the effect this highlighter gives to brighten and widen my eyes, so I was super excited to receive another product from Chella in this month's Violet Box. The Chella Brow Pencil (A$21.50, full size received) is a very fine and thin mechanical pencil which helps to colour and define the brows. I never ever leave my brows untreated, so it was interesting to try this brow pencil. I love how fine the pencil is, so it really does help to define the brows without any error.

Strange Beautiful is a totally brand new brand to me! Jane Schub is the designer behind Strange Beautiful and she is a graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design.  Strange Beautiful is a nail polish brand that house a vast collection of nail polish shades that are deliberately nameless. This is quite strange, as I've never come across nail polish shades without a shade name/number. The Strange Beautiful Nail Polish duo (A$22/set) I received is full size and includes a vibrant fire-engine red shade and an elegant beige/nude shade.

I love the packaging and the fact that there are two gorgeous wearable shades of nail polish bottles which share the same cap. So cute!! The consistency of the formula is quite good and the formula is completely free from toluene, formaldehyde and DBP. I was able to achieve a completely opaque finish with one coat of the red shade and two coats of the beige shade. The shades are beautiful pigmented and presents a vibrant, glossy and creamy finish to my nails!

Appelles is a new hair care brand that I've heard about so many times, but I never had the chance to try it out myself. The Blackseed Shampoo (A$18.95/150ml and A$44.95/500ml, 60ml sample received) is infused with rosemary, ylang ylanf and lavadin super, the scent of this shampoo is incredibly divine that it makes me feel revitalised! The Tamanu Conditioner (A$18.95/150ml and A$44.95/500ml, 60ml sample received) is also infused with the same ingredients as the shampoo and it too smells wonderful! I love hair products that give a refreshing scent as it really does make my hair smell nice!

This is the first time I've received a cosmetic pouch as part of my Violet Box subscription. This Caddy Cosmetic Pouch (A$26/each) is quite compact as it contains two large compartments where one compartment can be used to carry bulky items and the second compartment can be used to store eye pencils, mascara, lipsticks and brushes etc. The material is very sturdy, so it will keep your skincare and makeup essentials safe and sound!

I am super impressed with the contents of my June Violet Box as everything I received is useable and useful for my needs! The June Violet Box is valued at around A$120, so you are definitely getting your money's worth! I absolutely love every single product! If I had to choose my best three, it would be the Strange Beautiful Nail Polish, Appelles Hair Products and Chella Brow Pencil!

Violet Box beauty subscriptions cost A$22.95/month, A$66/3 months, A$130/6 months or A$250/year and you will receive a surprise Violet Box containing 4-6 beauty treats (full/sample size) at your door step every month. For more information on Violet Box, please click here.

Violet Box (May 2014)

I was so excited that my May Violetbox arrived at my doorstep the other day! This month's Violetbox is larger than usual, so I was curious to know what was inside that may be taking up all the space in the box. Inside my box there was a postcard which gave a sneak peek into the June Violetbox. It looks like the June Violetbox will hold a sample (or even full size) product of the ghd Straight & Tame Cream, I like the sound of that!

My May Violetbox contained a whole variety of lip, eye, hair and skin care products from new and known brands. The products I received were insanely generous as I received 4 full size products: LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub, Teeez Trend Cosmetics Lipstick, Chella Highlighter Pencil and Timeless Truth Facial Mask, and 3 samples.

I was super excited when I saw a full size Eve's Ready To Wear Lipstick (A$32/3.5g) by Teeez Trend Cosmetics. I was first introduced to this European brand when I received a full size nail polish in my April Violetbox. The lipstick shade I received is called Tempting Pink which is a gorgeous creamy pink shade that would suit every skin tone. The subtle scent is reminiscent of butterscotch and the packaging of the lipstick is very fashionable and trendy!

One of my favourite skin care brands is LUSH, so I was thrilled to receive a full size pot of the Popcorn Lip Scrub (A$9.95/25g)! This lip scrub smells so delicious, brilliantly exfoliates the area around my lips and hydrated my lips, thanks to the core ingredients of Coconut Oil, sugar and a buttery caramel ingredient! I've heard so much about these lip scrubs that I'm glad that I've finally put this product on a test drive!

Chella is a completely new brand to me, so I was intrigued about their skin care range and eye and brow collection. Chella was established in California and they do not test on animals. I received a full size product of Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil (A$22/1.4g), which is a multi-purpose makeup product that has 10 uses! You could use this highlighter to brighten and widen the eyes by applying across the brow bone, waterline and inner corners of the eyes. Additionally, you could use this highlighter pencil to conceal small blemishes and red spots or even to highlight parts of the face (for example, the nose). The Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil is only available in one shade and suitable for those who have light skin tones.

I love finding time to pamper myself (who doesn't?!) so this Timeless Truth Miracle Rejuvenation Mask (A$7/mask) will be put to good use! I also received two NUXE satchet samples of Huile Prodigieuse (an oil to nourish either the face, body or hair) and Creme Merveillance (a moisturier for normal to dry skin types to reduce the appearance of expression lines).

Goldwell StyleSign Sleek Perfection Thermal Spray Serum (A$24.95/100ml) is the perfect size for my travel bag! I always use heat styling products to style my hair, so this little beauty is just what my hair needs!

I am super pleased with the products in my May Violetbox! I love receiving a combination of makeup, hair care and skin care products, which is what Violetbox consistently does! I will definitely enjoy playing with my new beauty goodies this month and I look forward to the June Violetbox!
Violet box subscriptions cost A$22.95/month, A$66/3 months, A$130/6 months or A$250/year and you will receive a surprise Violet Box containing 4-6 beauty treats (full/sample size) at your door step every month. For more information on Violet Box, please click here.

Violet Box (April 2014)

I hope you all had a wonderful and fun-filled Easter last weekend! I was feeling ecstatic when my April Violet Box arrived at my door step right after the long weekend came to an end! It was a nice surprise to receive some beauty goodies after indulging in some delectable chocolate Easter treats with family and friends over the break!

Cedel Scented Hairspray in either Oriental Blossom, Raspberry Punch and Coconut Bay (A$4.99/100g, full sized received) - The new generation of hairsprays have finally arrived and these innovative beauties by Cedel feature a delightful scent to ensure your hair smells beautiful all day long! I received the full size Cedel Oriental Blossom Hairspray and I love the bright and colourful packaging of this product. The size is compact, not too small nor big, so you could carry this while on a road trip or when you're going to a sleep-over. The Oriental Blossom scent smells pleasant just like a bouquet of fresh-cut flowers!

Bioderma Crealine H2O (A$19.95/100ml, A$29.95/250ml, A$39.95/500ml, 20ml sample received) - So many people have raved about this wonder makeup removing solution that I'm surprised that I myself have not yet tried this!  Bioderma Crealine H2O is a gentle, fragrance-free and non-rinse solution that helps to cleanse and remove makeup and residues on skin. If you have sensitive and intolerant skin, then this solution may be perfect for you.

Teeez Trend Cosmetics Chain of Stones Nail Lacquer in Melted Copper (A$15/8.5ml, full size received) - The shade Melted Copper is a gorgeous burnt orange/copper shade with a holographic finish. It's the perfect shade for this Autumn season! The formulation of this nail lacquer features four different effects: mirror, mirage, holographic and high gloss. Two coats is plenty to achieve a beautiful finish with a unique holographic effect!

Villainess Dulces en Fuego Whipped! (A$15/170g, sample pot received) -  I first came across the Villainess Dulces en Fuego range when I received my January Violet Box early in the year (review here). Their bath and body products smell so heavenly and sweet! The sample of Whipped body creme that I received has a musky bitter chocolate scent with vanilla and hints of citrus, nutmeg and black pepper. This body creme smells so divine thanks to the mixture of cherry kernel oil, antioxidant-rich grapeseed oil, light coconut oil and mango butter! This body creme makes my skin feel silky smooth and smell ohh sooo delicious!!

Be a Bomshell Eyeliner in Midnight (A$19, full size received) -  Be a Bombshell cosmetics seems to be popping up frequently in my Violet Box subscriptions. Their eyeliner in the shade Midnight is a dark navy shade which you could use to create a bold and sexy cat eye look. My eye lids are usually oily, so I always steer clear from liquid eyeliners and just stick to pencil/gel liners. I will definitely gift this to my bestie, who I know will love this shade!

My April Violet Box was quite exciting as I absolutely LOVE the variety of products that I could use on my hair, skin, nails, eyes and body! The Villainess Dulces en Fuego Whipped body creme has a yummy scent that is to die for, the Teeez Trend Cosmetics Nail Lacquer is the perfect shade to show off this season, the innovative Cedel Scented Hairspray will be my go-to hair product because it smells lovely and the Bioderma Crealine H2O will be my skin care saviour to rid all impurities and makeup on my face and eyes! I am very content with the products included in this month's Violet Box and as always, I cannot wait to see what will be included in the next installment of Violet Box!

Violet box subscriptions cost A$22.95/month, A$66/3 months, A$130/6 months or A$250/year and you will receive a surprise Violet Box containing 4-6 beauty treats (full/sample size) at your door step every month. For more information on Violet Box, please click here.

Violet Box (March 2014)

One thing I look forward to each month is my Violet Box subscription! I wonder what exciting goodies are inside!

A sneak peak into the April Violet Box reveals a new brand collaboration called Teeez Trend Cosmetics. Teeez Trend Cosmetics launched in 2004 in the Netherlands and it's exciting to see their products becoming available here in Australia! I'm already looking forward to the April Violet Box!

Mirenesse Velvet Lip Lift Moisture Shine in shade #47 (A$39.95, 1.5g sample received) - This highly pigmented shade of coral features a microcollagen instant lip plumper, and long term anti-ageing lip treatment. The scent reminds me of butterscotch, which is quite nice for a lip gloss! This mini lip gloss is just perfect for my handbag!

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in shade Gogo Girl (A$4.95/15ml, full size received) - I received the same shade in my September 2013 Violet Box, so this one will go to my sister, she loves anything red!

Starlooks Gen Pencil in shade Amethyst (A$19.50, full size received) - These Gem Eye Pencils are highly metallic and instantly brightens the eyes when applied to the inner corners of the eyes! The shade Amethyst is a pretty lilac shade with high metallic shine. I'm quite surprised how pigmented and soft these pencils apply.

Love Those Lashes New Silk Strip Lashes (A$14.95, full set received) - These fluttery lashes are made from silk and look beautiful and natural! I love that these lashes are natural-looking and that they don't look too dramatic. These would be perfect to wear for high tea!

Acorelle Skincare Serm (A$58/30ml, 2ml sample received) - This serum is a powerful anti-oxidant which helps to nourish ageing skin.

Overall, there was a great mix of cosmetics and skincare products in this months Violet Box, however, I was a tad disappointed to receive another Sinful Colors Nail Polish in the same shade. My favourite products are the mini Mirenesse Velvet Lip Lift Moisture Shine and the Love Those Lashes Silk Strip Lashes!

Violet Box (February 2014)

I was feeling excited that my Violet Box arrived last week when I was least expecting it! I've had such a busy week that I was surprised to receive my Violet Box in my mail box, waiting for me to reveal the surprises it holds. February is the month of love, so I was hoping that the theme of my February Violet Box would reflect around the notion of love!

February Violet Box

Wotnot Natural Organic Facial Wipes (A$7.95/25 wipes, 5 wipe pack received) - I am a huge fan or natural and organic skin care products, so I was really content to receive a pack of these Wotnot wipes! This sample pack would be great for traveling or even storing in my handbag for any emergencies.

Red Carpet Kontour (A$49.95/150 ml, 2 sachet samples in medium received) - RCK is an all-over body lotion which provides a glow finish to the skin. There are three shades available (light, medium and tan) to suit all skin tones. Not only does this body glow leave a beautiful gleam to the skin, it also aims to conceal imperfections such as stretch marks, cellulite, age spots and wrinkles.

Be a Bombshell 'The One Stick' in shade 'Girl Crush' (A$21/7.3g, full size received) and Lip Crayon in shade 'Some Beach' (A$19/2.5g, full size received) - These two full sized makeup products from Be a Bombshell are an interesting touch to this month's Violet Box! The One Stick came in a pink pearlescent shade which is quite versatile to apply to areas of the face where the light touches the skin. You could apply this product to the eyes, cheeks and even lips for a pop of colour and luminescent appeal! The Lip Crayon in 'Some Beach' is such a gorgeous coral shade! I love this bright summer shade and it's definitely a shade that I could wear everyday!

Nuxe Creme Nirvanesque (A$49.95/50ml, 15ml sample received) - Nuxe Creme Nirvanesque works to soothe, de-stress and relax expression lines. Although I am yet to see any signs of aging, I will definitely keep this somewhere for future use. This creme is actually composed of more than 80% of natural ingredients, so perfect for those who love natural and organic based cremes.

Aphelia Oasis Acne Solution (A$49/50ml, 2ml sample roller ball received) - This acne solution has come at a good time for me. I've had a couple of blemishes popping up these last few days, so I hope this acne solution helps to clear my skin from pimples and blemishes in no time! I like the idea of this vial possessing a roller ball head, which makes for easy and mess-free application.

The bright red heart-shaped lollipop was a nice touch to the February Violet Box! Overall, I was somewhat satisfied with this month's box as there was a nice selection of body, skin and makeup products that I would put to good use, aside from the Nuxe creme. There were a total of 4 samples sized products and 2 full sized products which will be fun to use when traveling during the upcoming weekend!

What did you receive in your February Violet Box?
