NEW Manicare Facial Cleansing Brush

Recently, I incorporated the new Manicare Facial Cleansing Brush (A$11.95) into my skincare routine and I haven't looked back! The Manicare Facial Cleansing Brush comes with super soft Nylon bristles which help to gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin. To use the Manicare Facial Cleansing Brush, simply wet the bristles in lukewarm water, squeeze a decent sized amount of cleansing product onto your skin and then use the Manicare Facial Cleansing brush to gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin in small circular motions. I love that you could control the circular motion of the brush against your skin and that you could concentrate on applying more pressure to areas in need of exfoliation, for example the T-zone. The bristles are incredibly soft and gentle, leaving me with beautiful, flourished and clean skin! The brush comes with a long handle, so you could comfortably hold the brush and control the brushing pressure/speed. The brush also comes with a plastic cap to maintain the cleanliness of the bristles. I absolutely love using brush and would highly recommend this! The Manicare Facial Cleansing Brush is so affordable, so definitely give this nifty brush a go!

Have you used a manual cleansing brush before?

Manicare Travel Essentials

This winter season, if you are planning on jet-setting away for a few days, weeks or even months, it's always great to travel light and only bring along the beauty tools and kits that you will need. Manicare have a wide range of travel essentials which not only make packing easier, but also ensure that you travel without stress. Here are a few travel essentials that may come in handy when traveling:

*Manicare Sleeping Mask (A$7.50)

Packed in a convenient and re-usable soft plastic zip-lock pouch, this sleeping mask helps to promote peaceful sleep. It has adjustable straps and is ideal for home and travel. This sleeping mask is comfortable to wear and super great if you are traveling on a plane during the evening.

*Manicare Toothbrush and Toothpaste Tube (A$6.50)

I usually pack my toothbrush and toothpaste in a durable and hard plastic case, but now that Manicare and come up with this flexible tube/case, I am now converted! The flexible tube is designed to ensure that you don't need to struggle with packing bulky items in your suitcase or vanity bag, plus the base has a few minute holes to allow moisture to drip away. Thereby protecting your toothbrush against unwanted germs/bacteria. When not in use, you could store it flat or just roll it up and store it away.

 Manicare Automatic Tweezers (A$14.95)

These Automatic Tweezers are completely different to those typical tweezers as these ones have a pink plastic covering with a spring operated mechanism which automatically 'pulls away' hair as you 'pluck'. The stainless steel slanted tip is quite sharp and allows spot-on precision, so just a little word of warning to be careful to avoid scratching your skin while targeting unwanted hair. The spring mechanism takes a little getting used to, though it works marvelously and does its job!

*Manicare Soothing Eye Gels (A$5.50/pkt 2)

These Manicare Soothing Eye Gels are one of my favourite travel essentials, as they instantly cool and relieve tired/puffy/stressed eyes. They come in a packet of two and you can store them in their original zip-lock bag and place them in the fridge for a few hours before use. If you are going on a road trip, storing these eye gels in an esky or bucket of ice will have them all ready to use when needed. The eye gels are large enough to cool my entire eye area and after about 15 minutes, my eyes feel pampered and relaxed.

The Manicare range is available at Priceline, Target, BigW, and selected Pharmacies.

What are your travel essentials??

Kit Cosmetics Diamond Nail Bows

The latest offering from Kit Cosmetics is the gorgeous and glamorous Diamond Nail Bows (A$15.95/set of six), which reminds me a lot like the glitz and glam on the set of The Great Gatsby movie! This set features six diamond nail bows, nail glue (1ml) and glue remover (5ml). These diamond nail bows are the cutest nail embellishments to add some bling bling to your nails!

Directions:

1) Apply a base coat to protect and strengthen your nails - I used Manicare Base Coat & Strengthener (reviewed here).

2) Paint your nails - I'm wearing the shade Monroe by piCture pOlish.

The shade Monroe is one of my favourite red shades as it looks so elegant and feminine on my nails. Monroe is described as a blood red jelly which contains minuscule iridescent holographic shimmers. The quality if great and the formula is excellent, where the consistency is not too thick and the finish is ultra smooth and reminiscent of jelly!

3) Place a small amount of nail glue to the bed of your nail and hold the diamond nail bow in place for a few seconds until the glue has dried.

4) To remove the diamond nail bow, use the glue remover provided or alternatively use regular nail polish remover.

Voila! These diamond nail bows are so easy to apply and they sit nicely on the nail bed. They add a touch of spark and are just so adorable! I've already received compliments after wearing them on this morning!

Kit Cosmetics Diamond Nail Bows are limited edition and currently available at Kit Cosmetics, Mecca Maxima, Mecca Cosmetica and selected Myer department stores nationally.

Have you come across these gorgeous diamond nail bows before?

Google Reader to close + TBRR Turns 2 Giveaway!

I’m sure most of you beauties are well aware that Google Reader (news has been floating around that GFC will not close, only Google Reader) will come to an end on July 1st2013. It’s sad news indeed, however, one way in which we can all keep connected and on track in the beauty blogosphere is to use Bloglovin’, which is similar in contrast to Google Reader. The main difference is that you need to login to the Bloglovin' website to view the list of blogs you follow and as for those who are following your blog... well you can choose to receive an e-mail notification once someone follows your blog, since the list of your followers seems to be non-existent. Despite this, the settings and layout of Bloglovin' are coherent and very easy to navigate.

On a side note, The Beauty of Red Roses turns TWO and I’m hosting a Giveaway to celebrate! I’d like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of my loyal readers for coming by and spending some time on The Beauty of Red Roses. I’m very grateful to have met so many lovely beauty bloggers in person and via the blogosphere since The Beauty of Red Roses was born, so thank you all once again for your support!

Without further ado, here are the details of my Giveaway!

I’ve collected a few beauty products and accessories from my favourite brands and I will be giving away this bunch of beauty/accessory products to TWO lucky winners! Please see the Rafflecopter Widget below (you may need to wait awhile for it to load) and there will be a few questions and tasks that you may choose to do to earn more chances to win the draw.

This Giveaway will be open until May 30th 2013 and the winner will be announced shortly thereafter. Giveaway is open internationally!

Manicare Nail Treatment Systems

Manicare has positioned weak, chipped and stained nails into the spotlight and launched three new nail treatment systems to ensure your nails are in top shape.  The three Manicare top & base coat products are the Beginning to End Top/Base Coat and Nail Strengthener (A$15.50/12ml), Mirror Shine Top Coat (A$13.50/12ml) and the Base Coat Plus Strengthener (A$13.50/12ml).

A couple of weeks ago the lovely representative for Manicare gave me the opportunity to test-drive the Beginning to End and Base Coat Plus Strengthener.

Base Coat Plus Strengthener, as the name speaks for itself, is a fast drying base coat for prolong nail polish wear and also protects the nails from yellow staining. Sometimes I steer clear of wearing dark shades of nail polish such as reds and navy as darker shades tend to result in yellow stains to the nails – it’s an awful situation to come to. Base Coat Plus Strengthener is the solution (and an absolute must!) to prevent the nails from staining – so no more fears!

Beginning to End is a multitasking nail treatment product which is not only great as a top and base coat to improve adhesion of nail polish, but also helps to strengthen the nail thanks to the ‘breakthrough 3 in 1 formula’ which includes essential amino acid derivatives. Beginning to End avoids the use of multiple products for a manicure and it also works a treat to protect the nail bed and ensure the smooth shiny finish of nail polish lasts longer. I’ve been re-applying Beginning to End every 2-3 days and my nails do feel and look healthier and stronger.

Beginning to End and Base Coat Plus Strengthener are excellent multi-use top and base coats that adds the ‘care factor’ in which most nail products I own do not have. Another great quality I noticed was that these top and base coats DO NOT give a strong offensive chemical scent; I've always disliked using most top and base coats due to the strong scent.  If I were to choose between the two I would opt for the Beginning to End only because it has the added benefit of the 3 in 1 formula.

Manicare nail formulas do not contain formaldehyde and toluene.

Do you use top and base coats to protect your nails?
