CK One Colour Haul + Ltd Edn Street Edition

I was shopping in the beauty department in Myer the other day and when I stumbled upon the CK One Colour counter, I wondered why I hadn't stopped by there before. CK One Colour launched in Australia last year and their range of products look very sleek and chic that they seem to be aimed more towards the younger generation of women. 

I am a sucker for limited edition collections, so I was really excited to see that CK One Colour recently launched their limited edition Street Collection which features vibrant and vivacious hues that are symptomatic of graffiti in the city streets! CK One Colour ambassador and New York City graffiti artist Sharon De La Cruz designed the limited edition packaging of the fragrances, lipsticks, nail strips and eye shadow quad. 

The products in the CK One Colour Street Edition include the following: CK One Shock Street Edition for him and her fragrances, Shine Lipsticks (A$35/3g: Tagged is a hot pink, Painted is a sheer purple, Punked is a vibrant coral/red and Sketched is a soft pastel peach), Eye shadow quad in Vandalised (bright shades of blue, pink, purple and brown) and Nail Strips in Graffiti.

I was particularly interested in the Shine Lipstick in Punked as it is a vibrant red shade which would brighten my complexion. I received a CK One Colour Street Edition cosmetic pouch which was a gift with purchase promotion with any purchase from the Street Edition range. I also ended up purchasing the CK One Brow Pencil and Gel Duo as I've been looking for these nifty eye brow duos everywhere, however, it seems that only CK One Colour and Bloom cosmetics sell these (see my review on Bloom Cosmetics Eye Brow Duo here).

CK Once Brow Pencil and Gel Duo in Wily Brunette and Shine Lipstick in Punked.

I really love the packaging of CK One Colour products - it's just simply black and white. The packaging is made from a black rubber-like material and the cap is a smooth shiny white plastic. I like that idea of the sleek and simple design and the rubber grip makes it very easy to open and use.

CK One Shine Lipstick in Punked (A$35/3g)

The lipstick casing is shaped like a bullet, similar to that of MAC lipsticks, and the formula is more sheer, shimmery and moisturising than the original CK One Pure Colour lipstick range. The shade Punked is a fun shade to wear that is more suited for day time wear as the minute iridescent shimmers give a luscious shiny effect to the lips when standing under the sunlight. The formula of CK One Shine Lipstick feels very slippery when applied, hydrating and lasts a good couple of hours, leaving a few specs of shimmers on the lips towards the end of the day. The high opacity of CK One Shine Lipstick means that you only need one swipe (bullet to lip) to achieve lush and full looking lips.

 CK One Brow Pencil and Gel Duo in Wily Brunette (A$30/gel 2.5ml + pencil 0.2g)

CK One Brow Pencil and Gel Duo is a 2 in 1 applicator which has a slanted wax pencil on one end and a tinted brow gel on the other end. There are four different shades of these Brow Pencil and Gel Duos: #100 Clever Blonde (blond), #200 Foxy Redhead (auburn), #300 Wily Brunette (medium brown) and #400 Crafty Raven (dark brown). Wily Brunette applies on as a light ash brown that is buildable and adds colour to suit medium brown brows. I especially love the wax-base formula of the brow pencil as it glides onto the brows smoothly and tames unruly brows to give defined, fuller and natural looking brows. The brow gel is tinted and dries up quickly to give well separated brows that stay in place - it's the perfect finishing touch to grooming brows. CK One Colour Brow Pencil and Gel Duo is an absolute staple and I highly recommend this product! It's very simple and easy to use and you could achieve beautiful brows in a matter of seconds.

Christian Dior Prêt-à-Porter S/S’13 Collection

I am completely mesmerised with the Christian Dior Prêt-à-Porter Spring Summer 2013 collection by Dior creative director Raf Simons. The theme exudes ‘liberation, both historical to the house and personal to himself’.

Raf Simons – ‘I am a fan of minimalism. It is a conceptual approach I like, but it is not the only one I like. Neither is it only one type of woman that I want to appeal to.’

The beautiful vibrant eye makeup look was designed by the man himself and created by makeup artists Tyen and Pat McGrath.

Pat McGrath – ‘Techno Butterfly look that draws attention to the eyes with intense geometric colours, studded with ‘bursts’ of Swarovski crystals in matching or contrasting shades.’

The spectacular colours and ‘Techno Butterfly’ design to the eyes looks stunning while rest of the makeup is kept neat and minimal. Just apply a thin line to the upper eyelid with black eyeliner, mascara to achieve fluttery lashes and a natural, unified and powdered complexion with subtly highlighted rosy cheeks was all that was required to complete the look.

Review: Bobbi Brown Marrakesh Chic Collection Rich Color Eye Shadow

This Autumn, Bobbi Brown has launched the new Marrakesh Chic Collection in Australia with new and limited edition shades of smoky and shimmery eye shadows and berry lip colours which were inspired by her trip to Morocco, capturing the beautiful rich colours and bohemian vibe of the country. 

Bobbi Brown- ‘A few years ago, I travelled to Morocco with my husband for our anniversary. It was an amazing trip and I was inspired by so much that I saw there, especially the rich, earthy colors that dominated the cityscapes and the rural vistas that we travelled through. As soon as I got home I started developing ideas for a seasonal collection featuring a new eye shadow, based on what I had seen and experienced there.’

Bobbi Brown eye shadows have always enthralled me with their wide variety of shades and finishes that I was utterly amazed that they released the Rich Color Eye Shadow with a new eye shadow formula. The formula of these new eye shadows is a hybrid powder-to-cream eye shadow which gives a sheer wash of intense color and a satin finish. These eye shadows have been claimed to maintain their color intensity and last for 12 hours. 

 

I have the Rich Color Eye Shadow in Sand Dune, one of the lighter and common base shades in the range, and I am seriously impressed with this eye shadow! The formulation is unique and the quality and overall staying-power is fantastic! Sand Dune is an intensely pigmented oyster grey shade which applies on smooth and gives a beautiful shimmery silky satin finish. I sometimes apply Sand Dune to the inner corners of my eyes, along the lower lash line or as an all-over eye shadow. Sand Dune is a versatile shade that it compliments almost all other eye shadows I own to create a gorgeous smoky eye. I have worn this eye shadow a few times for up to 10 hours and at the end of the day there were no signs of creasing or smudging. The eye shadow just stays put, didn’t budge nor fade/smear.

Bobbi Brown Rich Color Eye Shadow has a unique formula which provides a beautiful and long lasting finish with outstanding results. The Rich Color Eye Shadow line is limited edition and I really hope this new formula will be seen again in future with a wider range of shades available.

Topshop, Topman and Topshop MAKEUP (haul + swatches)

I love these creme based blushes as they give a natural flush of coral or pink to the cheeks and they also double up as a lip colour. The formula is extremely lightweight and very creamy! The compact has an inbuilt mirror and the size is slightly smaller than MAC blush compacts. The polka dot pattern at the top of the compact is very cute!

Lip Stick in Thrilled

Looking at the pencil-like feature of this 'lip stick' I thought this looked similar to those funky Clinique Chubby Sticks that I reviewed here. The shade Thrilled is a gorgeous bright pink coral shade which brightens up my lips and leaves a soft 'glow' finsh. The texture of this lip stick looks and feels like a cross between a lip balm and lipstick.  

Eyeshadow Crayon Pencils in Lazy Days (top) and Midnight (bottom)

Lazy days is a gorgeous soft pastel pink shade with gold glitter chunks and Midnight is a beautiful intense navy shade with silver glitter chunks. These eye crayons glide on smoothly despite those gorgeous chunky glitters in them.

Lip Polish in Rhubarb

Love the cute little in-built mirror!

This cute little round pot of lip gloss looks so cute with the signature Topshop Makeup polka dot pattern on the side. To my surprise this little Polish has an inbuilt mirror which I find very convenient! The gloss is a gorgeous sparkly red shade which enhances my lip colour and looks great over lipstick. The shade you see in the pot is exactly the same intensity when applied to the lips.

The Heavy Duty Collection 
The name speaks for itself really! The Autumn/Winter 2010 Heavy Duty collection includes a variety of chrome/metallic nail polish, crimson lacquer for stained lips and bold, classy and smudged eyeshadows.

These duo eyeshadow comapcts are encased in a sturdy metal compact with a huge mirror inside! You can get high impact colour when applied using a wet brush. I like the idea of the little bridge over the applicator, so it won't scratch the mirror if you happen to throw it in your handbag. The shades from both sets are complimentary and are absolutely great to wear on a night out!

This Spring/Summer 2011 Sandstorm Collection includes a variety of bronze/gold packaged eye crayons, eye shadows, semi permanent liners and soft subtle pink/bronze blush duo. Check out the range here.

These eyeshadow crayons in Zephyr (gunmetal) and Equinox (rose gold) from the Sandstorm collection are stunning shades! These apply on  smoothly and gives my eyes such high impact colour. I'm amazed about the quality and the gorgeous shimmer it leaves behind.
