Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash

Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash (A$9.99/354ml) is a luscious creamy soap-free gel which moisturises dry, sensitive and eczema prone skin whilst it cleans.  The body wash is made from colloidal oatmeal and menthol ingredients to soothe the skin. Being fragrance-free, this body wash has a slight minty scent which is most likely due to the inclusion of menthol within the formula. All you need is just a dollop of the body wash onto a shower sponge and clean away. One of the great things about this body wash is that my skin loves this as it is so gentle, nourishing and calming; I experienced no skin irritations whatsoever. Also, the body wash doesn't just slip off my skin and run straight down the drain, instead it lathers up nicely and allows time for me to massage my body. I really enjoy using Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash as it is a really great body wash for those with sensitive skin and it’s available in a huge bottle an affordable price tag too.

Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream

My hands tend to lose their moisture from environmental elements, day to day activities and even whilst washing my hands at the tap. My skin tends to feel dry and irritated unless I use hand cream to lock in the moisture. Lately, I’ve been trialing Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream (A$9.99/100g) which aims to provide all day moisture and is in particularly an excellent hand cream for dry and sensitive skin.

Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream contains Silicone to nourish, Colloidal Oatmeal to hydrate and Petrolatum to create a barrier to lock in the moisture and prevent the hands from becoming dry and chapped. I enjoy using this hand cream is the formula is lightweight, absorbs well and doesn't leave a greasy layer to my hands. Once the formula is absorbed into my skin it leaves my hands feeling comfortable, moisturised and matte. The formula offers 24 hour moisturisation, however, my hands dry up so easily, so I tend to reach out for this hand cream regularly - up to three times a day. Overall, I’m very happy with the results as Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream has been very effective to relief my dry skin by providing adequate moisture and hydration.

NEW: Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara

Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara (A$38) launches in Australia today and this mascara is not just any ordinary waterproof mascara! Taking on board award winning Clinique High Impact Mascara, which is a cult favourite, Clinique developed the new High Impact Waterproof Mascara formula which offers dramatic lashes that lasts all day through humid/wet weather, tears or extreme workouts. Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara also provides volume and length to achieve dramatic wide eyes, while conditioning the lashes to make them appear lush and soft. The brush is made from solid and stiff fibres to help separate the lashes and the mascara formula contains a water repellent agent which provides even coating across the lashes and prevents transfer or even panda eyes.

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion

A few weeks ago I was introduced to Aveeno which is a natural and organic skincare brand that caters for people with sensitive and dry skin. Recently, I've been using Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion (A$12.99/354ml; A$9.99/225ml) which aims to intensively moisturise, relieve and protect dry, chapped and windburned skin. Daily Moisturising Lotion is dermatologist recommended and formulated with natural colloidal oatmeal to nourish the skin.

Aveeno - 'The natural properties of colloidal oatmeal (oatmeal that is milled to an ultra fine powder) are known for their ability to hold in moisture and relieve dry, sensitive skin. AVEENO® uses the whole kernel finely ground to retain the value of its entire composition. Natural proteins form a protective barrier from external elements locking in moisture for healthy, soft, hydrated skin.'

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion is housed in a sturdy bottle with a pump to hygienically and easily dispense the product. Despite being fragrance free, upon very close inspection of the lotion, the lotion evokes quite a subtle sweet sugary scent. I would assume the scent is derived from one of the core ingredients. I could only sense the sweet notes while smelling the lotion right up close to my nose. The sweet scent reminds me of marzipan and almond cake! I actually really like this scent, though after applying the lotion to my body I could no longer sense the sweet scent.

Daily Moisturising lotion feels very moisturising, it's lightweight and absorbs quickly. Although the lotion absorbs quickly, I feel as if the lotion locks in the added moisture to my skin to hydrate and nourish for hours afterwards. The lotion is very gentle to my skin and my skin feels comfortable after lathering the lotion onto my skin. My skin feels soft and smooth without feeling greasy at all. The bottle is also huge, so I'm sure that this bottle will last me through the next few months.

The Sanctuary Spa Therapist's Secret Facial Oil

The luxurious unctuous consistency of Sanctuary Spa Therapist’s Secret Facial Oil has gotten me addicted! Therapist’s Secret Facial Oil is one of Sanctuary Spa’s secret step in a spa facial as this super food for skin works well to replenish the skin’s natural oil content and also provides skin rejuvenation.

Sanctuary Spa Therapist’s Secret Facial Oil is one that smooths and nourishes the dry patches along my cheeks. Credit goes out to the concoction of pure oils, Sunflower, Jojoba and Wheatgerm Oil, known to be rich in Vitamin E which aids skin hydration. The formula also contains Rosehip seed oil, one of my favourite healing ingredients, which helps to rebuild and strengthen the skin while Precious Rose and Frankincense both soothe and calm the skin.

It feels amazing when I gently tap a few drops onto my skin after serum or even alone. It takes a few minutes of gentle tapping and massaging to ensure the Facial Oil is evenly distributed and completely absorbed into the skin. The Facial Oil is housed in a simplistic glass bottle that makes it very easy to determine how much product is left and also the glass dropper appears to be more elongated than most other facial oils, so ensures neat application and easy handling. For me, it’s a wonderful therapeutic night treatment so that I could admire my glowing skin in the morning!

Which facial oils are you currently loving?

Jurlique Citrus Purifying Mist

Jurlique Citrus Purifying Mist (A$48.99/100ml) is one of my all-time favourite skincare products! This refreshing facial toner is a clarifying mist which is infused with Witch Hazel, Marshmallow and essential oils of Tangerine and Lemon to purify and energise the complexion. The mist also contains Glycerin, Aloe Vera, Vitamins E, C and grapefruit seed to soothe and hydrate the skin. The ingredients formulated  in Citrus Purifying Mist aims to balances oiliness and provides natural antioxidant protection. My skintype is combination/oily, so I was recommended the Citrus Purifying Mist to help prevent my shiny T-ozone from appearing partway through the day.

The Citrus Purifying Mist is packaged in a frosted, durable glass bottle with a pump atomiser to disperse the mist. The mist spreads just about right onto my face without making my skin feel too wet. The mist absorbed pretty quickly and I don't end up with any droplets on my skin. The mist can be used as a toner straight after cleansing the skin and/or to set makeup. I always use this mist as a toner after cleansing my skin in the morning and night. My twice-a-day skincare regime with Citrus Purifying Mist has helped to calm and soften my complexion. My skin feels a lot relaxed and also luxurious! The scent is very citrusy from the Lemon and Tangerine components, however, the scent disappears within a matter of seconds after application.

I love the way Citrus Purifying Mist makes my skin feels and especially enjoyed using this mist during the summer to balance my skin complexion. The scent is just absolutely divine - it will surely remind me of the fun summer times I've had so far!

Have you tried any mists by Jurlique? Which hydrating mists do you love using during summer time?

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio for Brown Eyes (L) and Blue Eyes (R).
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio (A$24.95/set) contains three waterproof and pigmented eyeliner shades to define and enhance the eyes. The range is available in three different sets to compliment Brown Eyes, Blue Eyes and Green Eyes.

These automatic eyeliner pencils are super thin and slender, so they do not take up much space in my makeup bag. Just pop off the cap, twist up the eyeliner and apply away! I also just realised that these eyeliner pencils also come with an in-built sharpener on the other end, so if you need precision, you could always sharpen the tip of the eyeliner to line the inner rim of the eyes. I typically use the sharpener on the darker eyeliner shades more often than the coloured shades.

Blue Eyes (top) and Brown Eyes (bottom) set.
Blue Eyes set:
'Dramatic' Black - a charcoal black with subtle blue shimmers
'Playful' Brown - a metallic golden bronze
'Natural' Blue - an intense midnight blue with a hint of blue shimmers

Brown Eyes set:
'Dramatic' Black - a deep black matte
'Playful' Purple - a vibrant matte purple
'Natural' Brown - a dark chocolate brown

Brown Eyes (L) and Blue Eyes (R) set.
The shades of these eyeliners are just gorgeous and the longevity is just brilliant! These eyeliners glide on so smoothly and are pigmented to the point where I didn't need to re-apply - just one stroke provided intense colour. The only exception was for the two black shades, which I found were not as pigmented as the coloured shades. The black eyeliners lean more towards charcoal or a soft black shade. Although some of the eyeliners appear to contain shimmers in them, I didn't really notice the shimmers from a short distance or while looking in the mirror. These eyeliners are long-wearing and surprisingly they did not smudge at all. I usually wear the brown and purple shades for everyday wear as these shades make my eyes pop. Through the times that I was teary, the eyeliner did not smudge. So, if you are a regular gym junkie, you wouldn't need to worry about smudging or fading after a gym session. To remove, I apply cleansing oil onto a cotton pad and gently wipe away. The quality of these eyeliners are definitely impressive and to receive three eyeliners for A$24.95, I would call this set a worthy purchase!
