NEW Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick in Tropical Pink

Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick (A$38/3g) is the first ever age-defying lipstick by Clarins! This innovational lipstick not only provides a pop of colour but also provides nutrients and vitamins which help to decelerate the aging process of your lips and ensure they maintain their plump and youthful look. The star ingredients of Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick includes a Nutri-Youth Complex, which boosts collagen and hydrate the lips, Vitamin E, which fight against free radicals and 100% plant waxes (Jojoba, Mimosa and Sunflower extracts), which provide comfort and suppleness to the lips.

There are 15 sumptuous shades in the Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick collection and today I will be showing you a swatch of the shade Tropical Pink (No. 04). Tropical Pink is a vibrant fuschia, which brightens my overall complexion and would easily suit any skin tone.

The exterior of this lipstick is square in shape and quite bulky, though the gold tone casing makes this lipstick look very luxe! The round and elongated bullet has a slightly slanted tip which is more ergonomic for an easy and on-the-go application.

The creamy texture glides on effortlessly and the pigmentation is very intense, leaving a mirror-shine finish to my lips. The formula is packed full of fabulous ingredients that you could actually feel how ultra soothing, hydrating and replenishing this lipstick feels on the lips. I'm very impressed with the formula and shade of Tropical Pink as it is a trouble-free lipstick that does not bleed and lip gloss is not required for added shine. The formula lasts a good 3-4 hours without eating and leaves a nice subtle stain if you avoid re-application. The scent of this lipstick formula is also quite amazing as it contains notes of Blackberry and Liquorice! I absolutely adore this lovely sweet and intense scent!

Have you explored Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipsticks yet?
What do you think of their concept of producing an age-defying lipstick formula?

Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in Geisha Red L25

Sisley Phyto-Rouge Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick (A$62/3.4g) is a high coverage lipstick, which provides intense colour and protects the lips. There are a total of 25 luscious shades to suit your skin tone and one shade that was kindly sent to me is Geisha Red L25.

If you are on a lipstick hunt for that perfect red, then the shade Geisha Red L25 is the one you should definitely try. Geisha Red L25 is an opulent crimson red that will seriously melt your heart! I always reach out for this red beauty when I’m going for a bold, vivacious and sexy lip!

The lipstick bullet has multiple beveled faces which spiral up from the base to allow precise application. The high pigmentation and satiny texture of this lipstick formula allows for an opaque glossy and fresh finish to the lips, which looks appealing yet elegant at the same time. The soft and silky texture of this lipstick means that you can apply this lipstick directly onto the lips (without lip balm) and then you could use a lip brush to neatly finish the look. For such a highly pigmented lipstick I experienced no bleeding at all!

My lips feel very comfortable and well hydrated during the entire day thanks to the inclusion of core ingredients Calendula (softens the lips), Vitamin C (antioxidant - fights free-radicals) and Vitamin E (antioxidant). The intensity of this lipstick formula does diminish on my lips towards the end of the day, however, it does leave a natural looking cherry stain, so re-application is not necessary!

Burberry Body EDP Fragrance

Burberry Body Eau de Parfum (A$79/35ml, A$110/60ml, A$149/85ml) is an exquisite and feminine scent that is housed in an elegant elongated glass bottle with a rose gold cap. The scent of Burberry Body EDP is beautifully rich, long-lasting and has minimal sillage to create a more intimate scent! I've received compliments towards the end of the day, so that goes to show how good the longevity of this fragrance is!

The composition of Burberry Body EDP includes top notes of fresh green absinthe, illuminating peach and delicate freesia, middle notes of natural rose absolute, iris and warm sandalwood, and base notes of woody cashmeran, creamy vanilla, amber and musk. Burberry Body EDP is a lovely woody/musky/floral/amber fragrance that is luxuriously divine and refreshing! I wear this scent on a daily basis as it instantly became my signature perfume upon first spritz!

Burberry Body is available at Myer and David Jones stores nationally.

NEW Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat Textured Nail Colours

Sally Hansen recently introduced the innovative fabric finish Fuzzy Coat Collection (A$9.95/9.17ml) to not only keep your nails looking warm and snug, but also trendy and fashionable to suit your favourite knits!

There are a total of 7 Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat Textured Nail Colours which feature bar glitters with a clear base. The colours in the Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat Collection include the following textured nail colours:
  • Wool Lite - Pastel pink bar glitter
  • All Yarned Up - Orange, blue and yellow bar glitter
  • Peach Fuzz - Orange and yellow bar glitter
  • Tight Knit - Navy blue and white bar glitter
  • Fuzz-Sea - Turquoise and yellow bar glitter
  • Wool Knot - Light blue and white bar glitter
  • Tweedy - Black and white bar glitter
Five of the 7 shades have two differently coloured bar glitter, whereas All Yarned Up (one of the most popular shades) has 3 colours and Wool Lite has only 1 colour of bar glitter.

I was kindly sent three bottles of Fuzzy Coat Textured Nail Colours to play with and these were Peach Fuzz, Wool Knot and Tweedy.

The bar glitters are quite well dispersed that I really wish there were more bar glitters formulated in each bottle. Despite this, you can easily build up the amount of bar glitters on each nail by applying additional coats. Just remember to allow each layer to dry for a few seconds before re-applying. Applying up to 3 coats is sufficient to give a nice and well covered 'fuzzy coat' finish. Alternatively, these Fuzzy Coats nicely compliment any other shade of nail lacquer you have, so you can create an endless array of nail looks to your hearts desire!

3 coats each of Peach Fuzz, Tweedy and Wool Knot.

What is your take on textured nail colours?
Are you a fan of these 'fuzzy' textured nail finishes?

Burberry Beauty Light Glow Peony Blush (No. 04)

It's been about a year since I last discovered the Burberry Beauty collection and up until now, my collection is still growing! Today I will be reviewing my all-time favourite blush which is the Burberry Beauty Light Glow Peony (shade No. 04) blush (A$70/7g).

Burberry Beauty Light Glow blushers are truly the most natural looking and featherlight blush that gives my skin a beautiful fresh glow! I've been using this blusher for a few months now and the beautiful embossed checkered design of the blusher powder is still intact!

The solid and durable gunmetal packaging of Burberry Beauty Light Glow is beautiful and luxurious! In fact, the checkered pattern is reminiscent of Burberry designed clothing. The square compact of Light Glow has a magnetic closure, a large in-built mirror and a super soft and dense angled blush applicator.

The shade Peony is an exquisite light pink with coral tones. I am in love with this shade as it incredibly beautiful and natural looking. This shade suits perfectly well for those who have fair-medium skin tones. The powder is finely milled and applies on ohh so smoothly and effortlessly thanks to the silicones formulated within this blusher. Since this blusher is feather-light it was no surprise that this blusher is not so pigmented, however, powder is buildable to some extent. This blusher is infused with Wild Rose extracts, which is no wonder why this blush sets away a lovely delicate floral scent!

Burberry Beauty is available at selected David Jones stores nationally.

Johnson's Daily Essentials Skin Care Range

Johnson's Face Care Daily Essentials range has recently launched to deliver beautiful and clear skin. The range includes facial wipes, cleansers, exfoliators and moisturising cream for less than $10 each! Another great thing about this range is that the products are tailored to suit people who have Normal and Combination skin and Dry skin.

*Johnson's Daily Essential Fragrance Free Facial Cleansing Wipes (A$6.99/25 wipes)

These fragrance-free facial cleansing wipes are fantastic as they have been made without any scents and feel so gentle that they are suitable for those with sensitive skin. These facial cleansing wipes are as a soft as a baby's bottom and feel silky smooth against my skin. It was an effortless job to remove all my makeup, however, I ended up opting for my Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover (reviewed here) to remove stubborn eye makeup and mascara.

*Johnson's Daily Essential Gentle Exfoliating Wash (A$8.99/150ml)

I love a good daily exfoliator which gently and effectively buffs away dead skin cells and leaves my skin feeling smooth and looking radiant! Johnson's Gentle Exfoliating Wash does exactly that! The exfoliating micro beads are tiny and feel so gentle that my sensitive skin absolutely loves it! The beads are packed full with essential minerals and vitamins that it's great to know that I'm not only exfoliating my skin, but also nourishing my skin simultaneously!

*Johnson's Daily Essential Refreshing Gel Wash for normal and combination skin(A$8.99/150ml)

Johnson's Refreshing Gel Wash works very well to cleanse my skin without causing any irritation and breakouts. The transparent gel wash contains large pink beads which get crushed as you gently massage the gel in circular motions on your skin. I really love this concept as I could feel the beads disappear as they become crushed and my skin feels moisturised rather than tight or dry.

 *Johnson's Moisturising Day Cream (A$6.99/100ml)

The Moisturising Day Cream is an opaque thick white cream which feels uber hydrating. However, I found that my skin does not tolerate creams with thick consistency as it did take awhile for the cream to penetrate my skin. So, the trick is to use very small amounts for each application. The scent of this day cream is quite light which is a great factor and my sensitive skin did not react negatively to this cream at all.

All in all, the Johnson's Facial Cleansing Wipes, Gentle Exfoliating Wash and Refreshing Gel Wash were the standouts of the Johnson's Daily Essentials range as my skin felt very clean, clear and super smooth! I've always overlooked the Johnson's skincare range when I'm walking through the beauty aisle at the supermarkets, but I guess from now on, I will be stopping by and re-stocking on my much loved cleansing products!

Have you tried Johnson's Daily Essentials skincare range before?

Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy - Damage & Colour Repair Range

Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy is a brand that I have heard and seen in TV ads and magazines, though I never really had the chance to give it a go. Miranda Kerr is the brand ambassador for Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy and it's no wonder why her locks are as healthy and shiny as can be! Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy products are infused with Nutrium10TM technology which consists of a rich blend of vitamins and nutrients which help to nourish the scalp. Providing and feeding your scalp with nutrients and vitamins are the basis for strong, beautiful and shiny hair.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to trial the Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy shampoo and conditioner (A$5.99/200ml or A$9.49/350ml each) and was thereafter sent products from the Damage & Colour Repair Range to try. The Damage & Colour Repair Range is formulated to treat and repair damaged and coloured hair. The formula is colour-safe, which does not fade colour-dyed hair and aims to nourish damaged hair and provide protection to improve the health of hair.

My long thick hair was in dire need of nourishment and strength, as I've been meaning to let my hair grow long. Over the last four weeks, I've been using the Shampoo and Conditioner from the Damage & Colour Repair Range and I must say that my hair has been looking great! After the first week of using the Shampoo and Conditioner, my hair not only looked healthy, but felt silky smooth and well nourished. The Shampoo is a pearlescent white formula which lathers up well, thoroughly cleanses my hair and nourishes my scalp. The best way to achieve a clean and healthy scalp using these products is to gently massage into the scalp. My hair doesn't feel dry nor weighed down, which is great as my thick hair is already difficult to deal with. The conditioner is an opaque white cream which makes my hair feel silky smooth and I could easily run my fingers through my hair under the shower without any obstructing knots in my hair. The floral scents of these products are light and refreshing! My hair does leave a subtle floral scent while my hair appears healthy from root to tip!

Have you tried the Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy? Which products have you used to treat damaged and colour-dyed hair?

Violet Box (July 2013)

Violet Box is a fairly new beauty subscription service (A$22.95 per box/month) which launched in Australia in June 2013 and since it's inauguration there has been positive reception in terms of product variety and practicality. I received an e-mail notification on Thursday the 18th of July, stating that my July Violet Box was ready to be dispatched and on Monday the 22nd of July I received my box!

I was super duper excited to reveal the contents in the July box as I am always eager to try new beauty products! I received the same sleek matte black Violet Box with the Violet box logo at one corner as the June box, however, this time I received a stylish flip top box with magnetic closure. I love the style of this Violet Box as it allows the box to be opened and closed easily.

Violet Box July 2013 edition

ModelCo Shine Ultra Lip Gloss (A$18/ - full size received)

The shade I received is a shimmering pink shade which has a watermelon scent. I'm not a fan of those watermelon-like scents, though the finish of this gloss is nice as it is non-sticky and leaves my lips looking smooth and glossy!

Aphelia Peony 9+5 Advanced Beautifying Eye Creme (A$69/15ml - 5mL sample received)

I am a huge fan of eye creme! I've heard of Aphelia Peony, though I never had the chance to try their range of skincare products. The creme feels uber-hydrating and a little goes a loooong way!

Catalina Geo Long and Deep Mascara (A$31.50/7g + refill - full set received)

I've read so may RAVE reviews on this Catalina Geo Long and Deep Mascara that I was ecstatic to see a full sized tube + refill! This mascara defines while lengthens my lashes and the great thing is that it dries relatively quick! This mascara is definitely one of my favourite mascaras to date!

Adorn Cosmetics Eye Create Intensive Shadow in Jasper and Eye Create Matte Shadow in Quartz (A$15/1.5g - sample pot received)

Adorn Cosmetics Eye Create Intensive Shadow in Jasper (left) and Eye Create Matte Shadow in Quartz (right).

These loose eye shadows by Adorn are incredibly beautiful! The photos seriously do not do it justice! The shades Jasper (Shimmery golden shade) and Quartz (Matte dark brown shade) are complementary shades to achieve a sultry smoky eye or just a gorgeous when worn alone. Adorn Eye Create loose eye shadows are natural, non-toxic and Australian-made!

Adorn Cosmetics Eye Create Intensive Shadow in Jasper (left) and Eye Create Matte Shadow in Quartz (right).

St Tropez Bronzing Mousse (A$39.95/120ml, A$59.95/240ml - 50ml received)

My skin is quite fair and tanning products are not my forte. I will probably give this Bronzing Mousse a try as St Tropez is quite the popular brand for tanning solutions.

Overall, I am very satisfied and pleased with the July edition of Violet Box! My Violet Box contained two full-sized products (Lipgloss and Mascara) and 4 deluxe samples (Eye creme, Eye shadow and Bronzing mousse), which is a great selection that I'm sure there would be at least two products that the majority of subscribers will put to good use.

Are you a subscriber to Violet Box?
What are your thoughts on the second Violet Box that has launched?
