NEW Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist

Sisley have launched their latest lip product called the Phyto-Lip Twist tinted balm (A$50/each), which features a twistable pencil that delivers a punch of colour, a burst of shine and an array of moisturising benefits to the lips! These gorgeous Phyto-Lip Twist tinted balms are available in 6 beautiful shades (1 Nude, 2 Baby, 3 Peach, 4 Pinky, 5 Berry and 6 Cherry) and packaged in an eye-catching zebra stripped pattern.

I was kindly sent the shade 4 Pinky which is a vibrant, neon fuchsia pink shade that delivers a gorgeous pop of flirty pink to my lips! The coverage is slightly buildable and the formula glides along my lip so easily whilst maintaining the moisture of my lips throughout the day. I believe the pigmentation of the shade Pinky, the 4th shade in the range, lies between sheer and pigmented. Shades 1 to 3 are sheer and shade 5 to 6 in the range are the most pigmented shades.

The formula is lightweight and longevity is quite good for a tinted lip balm. During the day the pigmentation fades to a subtle pink bitten lip stain. The formula is non-drying and hydrates my lips during the day for a good 3-4 hours until I need to re-apply. Usually, I would touch up after lunch to bring in the gorgeous fuchsia pink finish to my lips!

The juicy and wet finish gives my lips a healthy and lovely finish for an everyday makeup look. The formula feels comfortable on my lips while providing a a glossy and pigmented finish like lipstick and moisturising feel like a tinted lip balm. I love the hybrid action of Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist!

Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in Geisha Red L25

Sisley Phyto-Rouge Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick (A$62/3.4g) is a high coverage lipstick, which provides intense colour and protects the lips. There are a total of 25 luscious shades to suit your skin tone and one shade that was kindly sent to me is Geisha Red L25.

If you are on a lipstick hunt for that perfect red, then the shade Geisha Red L25 is the one you should definitely try. Geisha Red L25 is an opulent crimson red that will seriously melt your heart! I always reach out for this red beauty when I’m going for a bold, vivacious and sexy lip!

The lipstick bullet has multiple beveled faces which spiral up from the base to allow precise application. The high pigmentation and satiny texture of this lipstick formula allows for an opaque glossy and fresh finish to the lips, which looks appealing yet elegant at the same time. The soft and silky texture of this lipstick means that you can apply this lipstick directly onto the lips (without lip balm) and then you could use a lip brush to neatly finish the look. For such a highly pigmented lipstick I experienced no bleeding at all!

My lips feel very comfortable and well hydrated during the entire day thanks to the inclusion of core ingredients Calendula (softens the lips), Vitamin C (antioxidant - fights free-radicals) and Vitamin E (antioxidant). The intensity of this lipstick formula does diminish on my lips towards the end of the day, however, it does leave a natural looking cherry stain, so re-application is not necessary!

Are you a red lip girl?
Which red lipsticks do you love most?

Sisley Eye and Lip Contour Balm with Botanical Extracts

I have finally found an eye cream that truly performs while bringing out the best to my eye area! These last four weeks I have been using Sisley Eye and Lip Contour Balm (deluxe travel size received as part of a GWP) which addresses the appearance of fine lines, dehydrated skin and puffiness surrounding the eye and lip area thanks to the wonderful botanical extracts (Witch Hazel and Phytostimuli of Tomato) formulated within the gel balmI'm actually quite surprised that this small travel size tube has lasted till this day and on the verge of finishing up.

I have been using this transparent, lightweight gel to my eye area, rather than to my lips (since I am satisfied with using alternative products to my lips, and to be honest, I have never ever been so impressed with the outcomes.  I only need to use a tiny pearl-size amount around each eye and gentle massage the gel onto the skin. The gel feels slightly sticky once applied, however, it actually absorbed beautifully leaving a nice matte finish. My eye area instantly appears smooth, supple, moisturising and refreshing! Over time, my eye area no longer appears dry or dull and my under eye area appears less puffy. In terms of fine lines, I didn't notice any reduction in appearance, however, I found that this gel diminishes puffy eyes while protects and prolong the aging of my skin around the eyes.

Sisley Eye and Lip Contour Balm really is worth it's weight in gold - though I only wish that this balm is wonderful treat is a little more affordable

Have you tried any Sisley skin care products? Which eye cream/gels are your holy grail?

NEW Sisley Phyto Blush Eclat in Pinky Berry

Sisley Phyto Blush Eclat in Pinky Berry (A$90/7g) is part of the new Belle de Shanghai A/W'13 Colour Collection which launches in Australia on the 11th of March 2013.  This new blush is embossed with a chic zebra pattern which is in sync with the design of the compact. The large in-built mirror allows me to view my full face profile and the brush is dense and soft, both are put into good use, unlike most compacts where the mirror is too small and/or the blusher brush is too harsh against the skin. Phyto Blush Eclat comes in a signature Sisley black velvet pouch, so you can safely carry the compact in your handbag or cosmetic bag when you're out and about.

The active ingredients of Phyto Blush Eclat aims to benefit the nature and texture of skin: Rosehip (tones), Gardenia (softens and moisturises), Gingko Biloba (fights free radicals), Corn (nourishes and hydrates), Woodmallow (moisturises and softens) and Linden (softens and soothes).

The zebra print of the Phyto Blush Eclat in Pinky Berry is made from two shades of pink: a soft highlighter pink for a fashionable glow and a deeper berry pink blusher for contouring the cheekbones. It's worth noting that the previous version of Phyto Blush Eclat contained the highlighter and blush which were separated in the compact, however the newer version has both shades interlaced in stripes which makes it a little difficult to apply the two shades individually. Despite this, it is still possible to use the shades separately. Though in my opinion, the best look comes from swiping the brush over both shades.

Pinky Berry appears lighter on the skin than what you see in the compact. The blush goes on sheer, but it is buildable. The powder of Phyto Blush Eclat is quite solid in the compact and also finely milled, which is probably the reason why it applies on sheer upon the first application. Pinky Berry appears very natural and it also provides a beautiful luminous yet subtle glow to the cheeks with a hint of a soft flush. My complexion looks a lot brighter and fresh with a healthy glow.

Sisley Phyto Blush Eclat is quite exy, though the quality and benefits that this blush offers is what makes this high end blusher one of my current favourites. The shade Pinky Berry is suitable for light to medium skin tones and it really is a gorgeous shade for everyday wear.

Sisley Phyto Blush Eclat will be available from 11th March 2013 at David Jones department stores nationally. There are five Phyto Blush Eclat shades available: Peach, Pinky Berry, Mango, Pinky Rose and Pinky Coral.

NEW Sisley Belle de Shanghai A/W'13 Colour Collection

Sisley Belle de Shanghai Collection
In Australia on the 11th of March 2013, Sisley will be launching the Autumn/Winter 2013 Colour Collection: Belle de Shanghai. The Belle de Shanghai collection is inspired by the  1920's beauty and femininity in Shanghai - the far east of China.

Sisley - 'Welcome to Shanghai in the Roaring Twenties where Eastern femininity is fully unleashed. Femininity can be seen on lips painted in fiery red for confident sophistication or nude pink for a fresh, natural glossy smile. The eyes flaunt warm, heady, smouldering shades, intensely coloured or suitably highlighted, but always dramatically elongated. The complexion is smooth and flawless, matte and opalescent. The face is structured and enhanced by a soft, pink blusher.'

The Belle de Shanghai colour collection includes the following:

Phyto Lip Gloss in Rouge or Beige Rose (A$50), NEW - Phyto Lip Glosses launched last year and was part of the S/S'12 Colour Collection. Rouge is a vibrant red and Beige Rose is a soft pink with a hint of beige, you can read my review on the Phyto Lip Glosses here. Phyto Lip Gloss softens, moisturises and protects the lips to give a glossy and shiny finish to the lips.

Phyto Levres Perfect in Beige Natural (A$62), not pictured - Phyto Levres Perfect is a dual end lip pencil with a smudging tool on one end. This lip pencil aims to allow for a perfect and precise lip-lining action to define the lip contour.

Copper Touch (A$50) - Copper Touch is a versatile cream eyeshadow which can be used to apply as an eyeshadow, liner or bronzer.

Phyto Ombre Eclat in Burgundy, Ultra Violet and Sorbet (A$55) - These Phyto Ombre Eclat shades are inspired by the atmosphere of Shanghai smoking rooms. Think soft, sultry and smoky eye effects.

Instant Perfect (A$80) -  Instant Perfect is a matifying product to be applied to the face as a makeup base to absorb excess sebum, reduce the appearance of pores and refines skin texture.

Phyto Blush in Pinky Berry (A$90), NEW (reviewed here) - Phyto Blush in Pinky Berry is one of the newest additions to the Sisley cosmetics line. The natural, softening and contouring blusher applies on sheer to sculpt the cheekbones and it comes packaged in a funky zebra print compact.

What are you thoughts on the selection of products and shades in the Belle de Shanghai collection?

February Empties

Burberry Beauty Sheer Foundation (reviewed here) - One of my top 3 favourite liquid foundations due to its lightweight creamy consistency which blends into the skin to give a luminous and natural finish.

Wella Age Ensure reviving treatment for coarse, mature hair - I've coloured my locks many times in the last few years to achieve a lighter brown shade and as a consequence, my long and thick hair is rather dry and coarse. Wella Age Ensure is used as a hair mask to be left on damp hair for 5 minutes before rinsing out. I must say that my hair does feel soft and great.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Clean & Classic Original - Dry shampoo is a life saver when it comes to times when my hair needs a little volume and revitalising. I did notice a small amount of white residue in my hair, however, this disappears after working up the volume using my hair brush or my fingers.

Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub (reviewed here) - This is one of the most gentle scrubs I have ever used! Although the exfoliating granules are very fine, this skin prep scrub works really well to remove dead skin cells, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth.

The Sanctuary Spa Illuminating Moisture Lotion SPF15 (reviewed here) - This ultra lightweight moisturiser feels lovely on and it has SPF15 which is a huge bonus!

The Sanctuary Spa Brightening Eye Gel (reviewed here) - Although this was a 5 ml sample that was included in the Sanctuary Spa Brightening Facial in a Box, this eye gel lasted me quite awhile. The gel gives my eye area a nice soothing and relaxing sensation while simultaneously hydrating my eye area.

Sisley Floral Toning Lotion - A gentle and soothing clarifying lotion containing Rose, Cornflower and Witch Hazel extracts which helps to remove excess impurities on the skin surface after cleansing. The scent was pleasant, not overpowering and the lotion was very gentle to my skin while making it feel calm. I always use a cotton pad to apply the lotion onto my skin and you could see the results of impurity removal. The best thing is that this lotion is alcohol-free and effective.

Have you finished any beauty products last month?

Sisley Phyto-Ombre Eclat Long Lasting Eye Shadow

Sisley Phyto-Ombre Eclat Long Lasting Eye Shadow is probably one of the priciest, yet most luxurious eye shadows I have ever purchased! The eye shadow contains 1.5 g (similar to that of regular MAC eye shadows), costs A$55 a pop and is available in 20 beautiful soft shades. It is quite pricey by the sounds of it, but in my opinion, the quality, formulation of the eye shadow and overall finish makes Sisley Phyto-Ombre Eclat so unique as an eye shadow.

Sisley Phyto-Ombre Eclat is an extremely finely milled powder eye shadow which contains natural botanical extracts such as Camellia, White Lily and Green Tea to soften, moisturise and improve fat breakdown. This is a very interesting concept as it is the first time I have come across an eye shadow which provides skin benefits. The eye shadow is packaged in a sturdy matte black compact with an in-built mirror and sponge applicator.

The shade Banana is a soft buttery sunshine yellow with miniscule iridescent shimmers to add dimension the eyes. The eye shadow goes on sheer and applies on smoothly and softly. The formula is buildable to appear more pigmented, however, the shade Banana will obviously only provide slightly intense colour to the lids. It is best to use the shade Banana as a base for the lids, on it's own as an allover eye shadow and as a highlighter to highlight the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes.

The finish of Banana is absolutely beautiful as an allover eye shadow as it brightens the eyes. The swatch of the eye shadow in the above photo really doesn't do it justice. Being a sheer finish eye shadow, I was really surprised that the formula was long lasting as it claims as there were no fall-outs whatsoever and the soft and subtle intensity of the shade was still visible at the end of the day. Under sunlight, you could notice a beautiful glow to the eyes.

The sheer wash of the shade Banana is stunning and this shade is unique and different from all the other eye shadows in my collection. I typically opt for purple, taupe, nude and dark hues of eye shadow and never really expected to choose this shade, which was actually recommended to me. I was recommended this shade by the lovely Sisley representative at David Jones Queensplaza store as I had told her that I have too many shades of eye shadow in my collection that I had no intention to expand my collection any further. So, I'm really glad that I chose to purchase Sisley Phyto-Ombre Eclat eye shadow as the formula is so different and not only looks lovely on, but the formula containing botanical extracts is an awesome benefit for the skin.

I am now obsessed with Sisley Phyto-Ombre Eclat Long Lasting Eye Shadows and I highly recommend swatching these shades as the counter to see the effect yourself.

Have you tried Sisley Phyto-Ombre Eclat Long Lasting Eye Shadows before? What do you think of the quality of these eye shadows?

Sisley Cleansing Milk with Sage

Sisley Cleansing Milk with Sage (A$120/250ml) is the most expensive cleanser I have ever purchased and I should add it was worth every dollar. Sisley Cleansing Milk contains the core ingredient of Sage extract and the cleanser is recommended for combination and oily skin types. The cleanser aims to purify the skin by deeply cleansing the skin to remove make-up, skin impurities and excess sebum. As with most milk cleansers, water is not required. I've never cleansed my skin without using water, so I was quite hesitant to use the product without water. The Sisley representative I spoke to mentioned that milk cleansers do not require water, since the formula is a milky and relatively thick (not too thick not too thin) lightweight fluid which can easily spread across the skin. To use Sisley Cleansing milk with Sage you just need to massage one full pump of fluid, which is about the same size of a 10 cent coin, directly onto your skin and then wipe it off using a cloth or facial tissue. I prefer to to use lukewarm water to rinse off the cleanser and residual makeup as it makes me feel very refreshed. I use Sisley Cleansing Milk with Sage as part of my nightly cleansing routine where I feel that my skin requires complete removal of all makeup and impurities from the city atmosphere. The scent of the formula is quite subtle and is purely indulgent, making me feel so revitalised. The texture of the formula feels very smooth and is extremely gentle on my skin. My skin feels soft and smooth after cleansing and I feel that my skin has become clearer and more 'glowy'. Each bottle contains a huge 250ml of product and each pump dispenses a small but adequate amount for each use, so this amazing beauty will last me a good few months!

What are your thoughts on Sisley Cleansing Milk with Sage? Do you think this cleanser will be suitable for your skin type? Have you tried any skincare products from Sisley?

NEW Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss

Sisley has launched a new collection of Phyto Lip Glosses (A$60/6ml) as part of the new Spring/Summer 2012 Colour Collection. Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss is a stunning collection of 7 ultra-shiny gloss colours which is shinier than the finish of lipstick and enriched with plant-based active ingredients to nourish, moisturise, repair and protect the lips. The shiny gloss finish is beautiful and the texture is ultra smooth that it is non-sticky!

The Phyto Lip GLoss is beautiful on the inside and out!

The 7 shades in the Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss Collection includes: #1 Nude, #2 Beige Rose, #3 Rose, #4 Fushia, #5 Bois de Rose, #6 Rouge and #7 Brun.

L-R: Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss in #2 Beige Rose and #3 Rose.

The shades #2 Beige Rose (a soft pink with a hint of beige) and #3 Rose (a bright watermelon pink) are the lighter and brighter shades in the spectrum of shades available in the collection. The shades are fun and flirty with no shimmer at all.

The packaging of the Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss is uber luxurious and sleek! The applicator is a very small brush on a wand which helps to make application so easy.

This is the first time I have ever come across a lip gloss which not only provides ultra-shine, moisture and nourishment but also provides skincare benefits such as protection and repair to the lips - the most fragile skin on the body.

The formula of Phyto Lip Gloss consists of Padina Pavonica extract which assists the production of natural Hyaluronic Acid in the body. Hyaluronic Acid is the key ingredient which helps to plump and soften the skin. Phyto Lip Gloss is also enriched with Phytosqualene (derived from olive oil), Rapeseed Oil (rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids) and Sunflower Oil to soften the lips and Shea Butter and Kokum Butter to soothe and repair the lips. The ingredient which protects the lips is natural Tocopherols and free radical Vitamin E. The scent of the formula is pleasant with fresh mint and tea leaves mmmm divine!

Swatch of Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss in #2 Beige Rose (left) and #3 Rose (right).

Are you a lip gloss or lipstick girl?
