Violet Box (August 2014)

Receiving my monthly Violet Box beauty box subscription waiting for me on my doorstep always brings a smile to my dial as I always feel eager to discover new beauty products and brands. The August edition of Violet Box was presented in a sturdy white box with a black drawer, just like the July edition last month. I love the presentation of this drawer box as it looks very appealing and useful as a storage option for my on-going collection of beauty products!

This months Violet box contained a fabulous selection of eye makeup, eyelash & eyebrow treatment, lipgloss, hand cream and body soap. There were 4 full-sized products and a deluxe sample of the hand cream that were beautifully wrapped in hot pink tissue paper with shredded purple paper.

Foltene Eyelash & Eyebrow Treatment (A$20.95/10ml, full-sized product received) - I was intrigued when I saw an eyelash & eyebrow treatment by Italian brand Foltene, as I've never thought of trying to enhance the growth of the lashes and eyebrow. If you have thin and fragile eyelashes and eyebrows then this formula may assist to give you stronger, thicker and longer eyelashes and eyebrows. The core ingredient is Tricalgoxyl which is a common ingredient, used by expert scientists at Foltene Laboratories, that is used to prevent hair loss. The colorless formula is applied to the lashes/brows using the mascara wand and overtime the formula will help to encourage the growth and strengthen your lashes/brows. The scent of the formula is a tad overpowering for my liking, so if you have sensitive eyes, be sure to use this formula with caution.

Appelles Rosemary Body Bar Soap (A$5.95/100g, full-sized product received) - I love using bath and body products by Appelles as their products smell so divine and help to relax my body in luxury! I received a full sized Appelles Rosemary Body Bar Soap and the scent is utterly invigorating! This Appelles body bar soap is formulated with Australian essential oils, blue mallee eucalyptus, niaouli, rosemary and lemon myrtle.

Camille Beckman Glycerine Hand Therapy (A$18.95/180ml, 7.1g sample sized received) - This sample pot of Camille Beckman Glycerine Hand Therapy is housed in a cute little black jar with a cute fabric peach coloured rose adorned on its lid. The light pink coloured hand cream smells a little overpowering for my liking, however, the consistency is just about right to hydrate and moisten my dry hands. This cute little pot looks so pretty on my dresser, so I'll be reaching out for this when my hands are in need of TLC!

Evelyn Iona Lipgloss (A$20.50, full-sized product received) - Evelyn Iona is a brand that originated in the United States. This lipgloss was received in the shade 'Val', which is a gorgeous nude colour gloss that is gluten-free, preservative-free and are not tested on animals. I love how the brand Evelyn Iona focuses highly on using natural ingredients and formulating their products in an animal-friendly way. This nude gloss would be great an an everyday lip shade that is hydrating with a smooth and glossy finish.

Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in the shade 'New York City' (A$22, full-sized product received) - This sassy eyeshadow quad comes with four sultry and sexy shades that will help to give you a dramatic smoky eye look on your night out! The shades are highly pigmented, though I would definitely suggest using an eye primer to prolong its longevity. The white, grey and dusty green shades have metallic finishes while the black shade is matte.

These are swatches of the pretty nude lipgloss shade of 'Val' by Evelyn Iona and the eyeshadow swatches of Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad in 'New York City. I am in love with the nude gloss as the texture is not too sticky and the formula feels very hydrating on my lips. The eyeshadow shades look so pretty as well, though they do lack staying-power.

Overall, my August Violet Box was quite an interesting one with a generous selection of eye, lip, hand and body products. I will definitely continue using each and every one product in this months Violet Box!

Violet Box beauty subscriptions cost A$22.95/month, A$68/3 months, A$137/6 months or A$250/year and you will receive a surprise Violet Box containing 5-6 beauty treats (full/sample size) at your door step every month. For more information on Violet Box, please click here.

Violet Box (April 2014)

I hope you all had a wonderful and fun-filled Easter last weekend! I was feeling ecstatic when my April Violet Box arrived at my door step right after the long weekend came to an end! It was a nice surprise to receive some beauty goodies after indulging in some delectable chocolate Easter treats with family and friends over the break!

Cedel Scented Hairspray in either Oriental Blossom, Raspberry Punch and Coconut Bay (A$4.99/100g, full sized received) - The new generation of hairsprays have finally arrived and these innovative beauties by Cedel feature a delightful scent to ensure your hair smells beautiful all day long! I received the full size Cedel Oriental Blossom Hairspray and I love the bright and colourful packaging of this product. The size is compact, not too small nor big, so you could carry this while on a road trip or when you're going to a sleep-over. The Oriental Blossom scent smells pleasant just like a bouquet of fresh-cut flowers!

Bioderma Crealine H2O (A$19.95/100ml, A$29.95/250ml, A$39.95/500ml, 20ml sample received) - So many people have raved about this wonder makeup removing solution that I'm surprised that I myself have not yet tried this!  Bioderma Crealine H2O is a gentle, fragrance-free and non-rinse solution that helps to cleanse and remove makeup and residues on skin. If you have sensitive and intolerant skin, then this solution may be perfect for you.

Teeez Trend Cosmetics Chain of Stones Nail Lacquer in Melted Copper (A$15/8.5ml, full size received) - The shade Melted Copper is a gorgeous burnt orange/copper shade with a holographic finish. It's the perfect shade for this Autumn season! The formulation of this nail lacquer features four different effects: mirror, mirage, holographic and high gloss. Two coats is plenty to achieve a beautiful finish with a unique holographic effect!

Villainess Dulces en Fuego Whipped! (A$15/170g, sample pot received) -  I first came across the Villainess Dulces en Fuego range when I received my January Violet Box early in the year (review here). Their bath and body products smell so heavenly and sweet! The sample of Whipped body creme that I received has a musky bitter chocolate scent with vanilla and hints of citrus, nutmeg and black pepper. This body creme smells so divine thanks to the mixture of cherry kernel oil, antioxidant-rich grapeseed oil, light coconut oil and mango butter! This body creme makes my skin feel silky smooth and smell ohh sooo delicious!!

Be a Bomshell Eyeliner in Midnight (A$19, full size received) -  Be a Bombshell cosmetics seems to be popping up frequently in my Violet Box subscriptions. Their eyeliner in the shade Midnight is a dark navy shade which you could use to create a bold and sexy cat eye look. My eye lids are usually oily, so I always steer clear from liquid eyeliners and just stick to pencil/gel liners. I will definitely gift this to my bestie, who I know will love this shade!

My April Violet Box was quite exciting as I absolutely LOVE the variety of products that I could use on my hair, skin, nails, eyes and body! The Villainess Dulces en Fuego Whipped body creme has a yummy scent that is to die for, the Teeez Trend Cosmetics Nail Lacquer is the perfect shade to show off this season, the innovative Cedel Scented Hairspray will be my go-to hair product because it smells lovely and the Bioderma Crealine H2O will be my skin care saviour to rid all impurities and makeup on my face and eyes! I am very content with the products included in this month's Violet Box and as always, I cannot wait to see what will be included in the next installment of Violet Box!

Violet box subscriptions cost A$22.95/month, A$66/3 months, A$130/6 months or A$250/year and you will receive a surprise Violet Box containing 4-6 beauty treats (full/sample size) at your door step every month. For more information on Violet Box, please click here

Violet Box (February 2014)

I was feeling excited that my Violet Box arrived last week when I was least expecting it! I've had such a busy week that I was surprised to receive my Violet Box in my mail box, waiting for me to reveal the surprises it holds. February is the month of love, so I was hoping that the theme of my February Violet Box would reflect around the notion of love!

February Violet Box

Wotnot Natural Organic Facial Wipes (A$7.95/25 wipes, 5 wipe pack received) - I am a huge fan or natural and organic skin care products, so I was really content to receive a pack of these Wotnot wipes! This sample pack would be great for traveling or even storing in my handbag for any emergencies.

Red Carpet Kontour (A$49.95/150 ml, 2 sachet samples in medium received) - RCK is an all-over body lotion which provides a glow finish to the skin. There are three shades available (light, medium and tan) to suit all skin tones. Not only does this body glow leave a beautiful gleam to the skin, it also aims to conceal imperfections such as stretch marks, cellulite, age spots and wrinkles.

Be a Bombshell 'The One Stick' in shade 'Girl Crush' (A$21/7.3g, full size received) and Lip Crayon in shade 'Some Beach' (A$19/2.5g, full size received) - These two full sized makeup products from Be a Bombshell are an interesting touch to this month's Violet Box! The One Stick came in a pink pearlescent shade which is quite versatile to apply to areas of the face where the light touches the skin. You could apply this product to the eyes, cheeks and even lips for a pop of colour and luminescent appeal! The Lip Crayon in 'Some Beach' is such a gorgeous coral shade! I love this bright summer shade and it's definitely a shade that I could wear everyday!

Nuxe Creme Nirvanesque (A$49.95/50ml, 15ml sample received) - Nuxe Creme Nirvanesque works to soothe, de-stress and relax expression lines. Although I am yet to see any signs of aging, I will definitely keep this somewhere for future use. This creme is actually composed of more than 80% of natural ingredients, so perfect for those who love natural and organic based cremes.

Aphelia Oasis Acne Solution (A$49/50ml, 2ml sample roller ball received) - This acne solution has come at a good time for me. I've had a couple of blemishes popping up these last few days, so I hope this acne solution helps to clear my skin from pimples and blemishes in no time! I like the idea of this vial possessing a roller ball head, which makes for easy and mess-free application.

The bright red heart-shaped lollipop was a nice touch to the February Violet Box! Overall, I was somewhat satisfied with this month's box as there was a nice selection of body, skin and makeup products that I would put to good use, aside from the Nuxe creme. There were a total of 4 samples sized products and 2 full sized products which will be fun to use when traveling during the upcoming weekend!

What did you receive in your February Violet Box?

Violet Box (October 2013)

My October Violet Box arrived a little later than usual, but it was certainly well worth the wait! The Violet Box I received was actually smaller and more rectangular in shape than the previous subscription boxes.

This month's Violet Box was packed full to the brim with skin care and make-up products where 4 of the 5 products included were full-sized.

October Violet Box

John Plunkett Cosmeceuticals Super Wrinkle Cream (A$28.95/50g, 20ml sample received) isn't something I need right now, however, for those of you who are interested, this Intensive Night Nourishing Cream is enriched with Vitamin C and E to help skin recover and rejuvenate.

APIVITA Express Beauty with Orange face mask (A$7.90/2 sachets) is an indulgent and revitalising face mask which is packed full of goodness that I'm sure my skin will absolutely love! I am really looking forward to using this face mask before the Melbourne Cup festivities next week!

Oxyplex Pressed Powder (A$70/11.8g, full size received) in the shade Amber is a mineral makeup foundation powder. Although the shade Amber is too dark for my skin tone, I can definitely see this powder as a bronzer to contour my face. Oxyplex is a completely new brand to me, so I'm quite intrigued to see how this powder performs.

Savoir Faire Lipgloss in Bon Bon (A$25, full size received) is a gorgeous fuschia shade which is totally right up my alley! The lip gloss applies on relatively sheer with a tinge of pink and the the caramel toffee scent of this lipgloss smells uber delicious!

Be A Bombshell Eye Shadow in Halo (A$18, full size received) is such a versatile shimmery white shade. The texture of the powder is quite soft, creamy and applies on smooth. However, the eye shadow doesn't last very well, so applying an eye primer beforehand is a must.

I am extremely pleased and excited to reveal to contents of the October Violet Box as there was a nice selection of familiar and unfamiliar brands included. The products included in the October Violet Box will certainly have me feeling well pampered and prepared for the Spring Racing season!

Are you a Violet Box subscriber?
Did you receive the same contents/shades as I did?
